One of the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 proclaimed by the United Nations is to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns. This achievement is implemented through point 12 with the main focus being Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns. Significantly reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse by encouraging businesses, especially large transnational corporations, to adopt sustainable practices.

This goal implies efforts to reduce the environmental impact caused on land through appropriate production and consumption patterns. Effective management of shared natural resources, as well as efforts to reduce hazardous wastes and pollutants are important goals to achieve this goal. One of them is to encourage the community, business actors and consumers to recycle and reduce waste. For this reason, changes in production and consumption are needed to make them more sustainable.

To commemorate World Clean Up Day 2021, we took the initiative to create a contest. Through this contest we want to see how you can take action to achieve these 12th goals. Share your story with us about how you handle household waste. This contest covers how you can share your ideas with us for dealing with the household waste you generate. This includes having to be supported by a number of your own personal documentation/images.

Various strategies can be chosen, including minimization/reduction of waste, recycling process, adoption of waste management technology, landfilling. Did you perform any of the above actions? How do you do it ? Here, let's share with us about recommendations that can be done and invite more people to take positive actions that have an impact on the future of the earth.

Apart from that, we'd also like to hear what you think about some of the questions below!

1. How much waste does your household produce every day?

2. What types of waste, organic/inorganic or have both?

3. Do you have a trash can or garbage bank?

4. Have you ever burned trash?

5. How confident are you that you can handle the amount of waste produced in your home?

Show us what initiatives you will take to reduce waste and how you handle waste in your home. We want to see the actions you take for the environment, whether it's about cleaning up activities or whatever it is to reduce waste in your environment. Write and complete with a number of your own pictures that support your explanation.
