Blogging on Steem is definitely a beautiful and exciting journey, in the online space, and although the waters are a bit shaky nowadays with all the uncertainty regarding Steem/Steemit future, after Justin Sun purchased Steemit, it's still a hell of a ride, and it's one that you don't make alone. That's the fun part, I guess.
The sad part is that on the way you might loose people you liked interacting with, and some might loose you. We tend to forget easily, but today reflecting on my blog's interaction I realized that I miss some of the dormant steemians that were active a few good months ago, or even a year, in some cases. Hence I dedicate an entire post to them, and hope some bells might ring around them and get at least some back to Steem.
It's 8 users that I would really like to have back in here, active as much as possible, so get comfortable, because this is a long post. Before diving in, don't get me wrong, I do appreciate the ones that I currently have around on Steem, but it's never enough, and I would for sure be happy to see others that are not active anymore, getting back on track.
First on my list is @steemed-open and her user name is quite relevant. She's one of the most open minded persons that I met on this blockchain, with whom I exchanged tons of comments on yoga related topics, spirituality, philosophy and anything in between. I haven't seen her online for quite some time, but I would be happy to have her as an active user again.
Next is @cicbar who's somehow a neighbor of mine. He's actually from Belgrade, Serbia, but we used to call ourselves neighbors, and not only that I got tons of comments from him, and appreciation, almost all of my SBI shares were bought by him. It's been a year I guess, and he's still inactive. He wasn't blogging too often, but very active in engaging on Steem, and had always good point expressed on my posts.
@tobixen posted the last time about eleven days ago, so he's not that inactive, as the other two ones but still, can't compare his current engagement, with the one from early 2018. From what I know he's having a third child and I assume that takes a lot of time and responsibility, which won't leave too much seconds left for steeming. I have to say that from all that I'm going to mention in this post, he had the most documented and convincing comments that I've read, and he was never in a rush. Never shit posting and definitely a follow if he'll be back being more active.
I haven't seen @moghul for many months posting anything on Steem, and seems like, disappearing out of a sudden. He was one of my favorite Indians on Steem, and the one that knew all the Hindu Holidays that I sometimes referred to in my posts. A doctor, from what I understood, and a passionate about sports, and the type of guy that you can't say you don't have common topics to discuss with. I would really like to see him back here.
Now I don't have too many Americans in my list of faves, but I sure liked the posts of @snubbermike and his Australian Shepherd. We were on totally different time zones, but always found reasons to interact, and his posts with all his Jeep experiences off and on road were something I wouldn't overlook. Especially after he bought that cute dog :). I don't know what happened but haven't seen him online for a while, and no comment have I got from him for a long time. Hope he's fine and see him again soon.
Some of the best photography posts that I had on my feed were the ones of @ricpicks . He's a great photographer that shared pretty often great pics from his sailing experiences in The Netherlands. It's two moths since I haven't seen him online, and I hope he hasn't quit Steem for good. The world of photography, on Steem, needs you and if you get a notification bell from this tag, hope to see you active again pretty soon. So much quality you put in your work, that I often felt like I was there on the boat with you guys, when reading your blog.
If there will ever be a nomination for the best freewrite blogger on Steem, my vote goes to @ladyrebecca . From what I know she is an ex journalist and you can sense from a mile that writing flows like the Ganges, when she posts anything on her blog. Unfortunately there are good months since she hasn't had any updates and it feels a bit bitter to see that users like her don't feel like being active anymore. I get that though... I still hope to see her blogging again, creating quality traffic for Steem.
Last on my list is @sorin.macau . One of my personal real life friends, that I managed to on-board on Steem, but quit after just seven posts. He's really a man with opinions and quite some programming and blockchain knowledge, but two years after creating his account, he's still dormant. Hope he wakes up one day and starts posting again. I would feed my ego on that matter, knowing that I convinced him to join Steem, so tow rabbits down with a shot. One for Steem ,and one for me.
I don't know if you noticed it or not, but somehow this post is related with my last one. I mentioned there that I don't like challenges on Steem, and themed posts that are initiated by a few, triggering the majority in writing on the same topic, drawing attention towards the initiator of course, so I've done the opposite. Instead of doing the who I follow on Steem challenge, I wrote about the ones that lost themselves, out of Steem, for a while.
I hope each and one of them, will become active again, because I surely appreciated their presence. My big fat ego tells me that I should suggest you to write something similar as well, but I'm not a fire starter and probably will never be. Won't get mad if you do though. By the way, did you follow as well, any of the users I mentioned in this post?

Fourth! I'm struggling to keep my head over water those days, feels a bit like the authorities are after me ... problems with the tax authorities, building/construction department and even the child protection services.

For me it was a shock when a few months ago I revised my list of following. I think 80% were no longer active ... I felt almost a physical pain.
That's right, taken by the waves I lost valuable connections trying to get to know as many people as possible. Now, as there are fewer, it is easier.
Although I use challenges and contests, for convenience, for the ready-made themes, I agree with you in being against such an option. I gave up several times but I was not consistent.
The big problem I see is that, no matter how good and interesting you write, hardly anyone reads and is not related to the rewards paid automatically. Here I think it's a bad signal for the future.

I hope to see at least some that took a pause being active again. In regards of following trends and engaging in challenges I rather have mine. My approach may be wrong and I could have a bigger community and bigget upvotes but that's simply not me. My blog is a perfect reflection of who I am and don't want it to be something else.

I am more pessimistic, I do not think we will see many reactivated after long breaks. I know some who have tried but failed.
I like that you respect your line and wish you success. There are great chances to succeed.
As for me, I have been dissatisfied with the activity lately, I have tried a few large and elaborate posts that have gone unnoticed so I think a more superficial period will follow, out of curiosity.

I never had long and elaborated posts, but I have quite a few long ones, because there was much to say. I write them because I like, and don't care that much about the attention. I like to blog and that's it. You're posts are great so keep doing what you consider worthy. If upvotes will come fine, and if not, fine as well. As long as you don't rely on the Steem earned to make a living, it's a great way to spend your time online.

Nice post! I miss some of the people that I used to interact with on here in the past. The good thing is, now we find new ones but it doesn't make it any less sad that the others left.

I honestly haven't found too many new ones... but life goes on.

I have been finding some good ones. They don't post quite as frequently as some of the old ones did, but when they do it is a nice surprise!
