I've been sitting in a cafe for the last hour or so working (my real job), answering replies on steem and chatting a little on discord with @freedompoint. I also got the opportunity to eat lunch which you can see pictured. It's a couple of poached eggs on a bed of zucchini and corn fritters and tomato salsa and some other stuff I can't recall...It was pretty tasty though.
I was at the office this morning at 7am and had a productive four hours of work and a meeting prior to coming over here to work on my computer which connects remotely to the server at work; Together with my mobile phone it means I don't really have to spend time in my office if I don't feel like it. I guess that's one of the benefits of my role, autonomy, and I have to say I make the most of it daily. It hasn't just happened of course, I have worked long and hard to place myself in the position I hold and have an obligation to perform, at a high level, against my budget. So, I apply myself, as everyone should I guess.
As I said above, I've been chatting with @freedompoint who is building me a custom knife. I came across this champ via steem and followed for a while before deciding I had to have one of his knives which I subsequently ordered after some discussions. He is up to day five of the build and you can see it here if you're keen. It won't be long until it's ready for shipping and once paid for will be on its way down here to Australia where it will cut stuff for years to come. I'm pretty excited about having it, feeling the heft of it in my hand and seeing how it cuts. Considering the grade of steel used I suspect it will hold a sharp edge. That's what I wanted, a sharp and durable knife.
The reveal of the finished product should be coming up in the next few days so it will be cool to see how it came out. I have seen some images today and it looks pretty good...Utilitarian is what I wanted, workmanlike and serviceable as I will use this knife in the field. I think he hit on the head!
Anyway, I just thought I'd check in and say hi. I better get back to work, both my real work and steem replies.

I really want one of those knives as well but I do t think they would make it through German customs. I have realized my auto voter hasn’t been upvoting... then I checked my power is down in the 60s and I have a bunch of upvotes on the trending page for people I have nothing to do with. Do you know at all the link to adjust it? I tried steemconnect but can’t login. Hope I’m not hacked. I can login everywhere else just fine and no power downs or anything.

I think @freedompoint is going to send it as garden implement so should be ok. I've bought blades from the States before and they got through so will have to hope this one does. A cool looking blade huh? I'm looking forward to the complete reveal.
For auto-votes...I use SteemAuto and that's the only one I know of so I don't think I can be of any help. Have you followed any voting trails that you have forgotten about? It happens I guess. I've been having trouble with Busy and SteemPeak lately so I wonder if there's some shenanigans in the background? I don't know enough about it really so am probably not the right person to ask. Maybe send my brother a message or ask on one of his posts?

Knives are important, and not just for cutting food...Although a knife came in handy when I was eating the lunch you see pictures. Interesting that your son deals in woodworking tools and blades. He's a distributer r wholesaler? My grandfather was a wood-carver and woodworker and he always said how much of a difference good tolls make to the end result.

Three years? Wow. We tend to go to cafés more than restaurants, they're more casual and better value for money I think. We don't go too much though, although I'm in a csfé every day at work I suppose. I work from there during the day, instead of my office.

I think restaurants provide table service and cafés are order at the counter things. Here anyway. It's a better work environment than my office and as long as I have my computer and a phone I'm good to go mostly. I spend about 30% of my day at a café, 30% at the office and the rest with clients etc. Not a bad day.

Because it's not an office, they have an alfresco deck with open sides and fresh air, cakes and tasty food and good coffee. I'm more productive there and I don't feel like I'm working at all. Besides, getting paid to work in a cafe environment isn't too bad either. I know the owners who treat me like a mate and I get to stop work and people-watch for a break. Seems legit. Done it for years.
