The sovereign will of God is the perfect will of God, His expression desire and divine plan for everything we want in life. The opposite of this is the permissive will of God. This comes when man refuses to take God's sovereign will.

Right from Eden, God gave man the power to choose. Man knows nothing, but God knows the end from the beginning, so, whatever He gives is best.
God reveals His will to us through His word and He wants us to obey Him as it done in Heaven. There are dangers inherent in not doing the sovereign will of God.
The children of Israel told Samuel that they were tired of his leadership and wanted a king to lead them to battle like other nations. By so doing, they rejected God. They had a king, but they lost the attendant victory that was theirs when God was their leader. So, it is with us in this glorious gospel. We have enough doctrine and literature to keep us in the gospel. There is poison in literature based on spurious doctrine.
Jesus is our perfect example. He wanted to do nothing but the sovereign will of the father. That was what made the redemption of mankind possible.
