You can therefore treat yourself to the famous sand rose … I had already seen a sand rose when I was a child because my parents had brought back one of their trip to Tunisia and I had foolishly believed that this stone was created with camel pee! It was only years later that I understood the hoax ... The sand roses are not the fruit of a pressing need for a camel (especially in Tunisia there is only Dromedaries)… No, these are in fact the result of a crystallization of minerals (often gypsum), which can take several thousand years…
