The saying “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” Is absolutely nothing but true,
I am a firm believer that when work becomes too overwhelmingly boring and there’s no zeal to continue, its time to take a break!
Everyone knows I’m a passionate yoga professional, I teach clients, coach other teachers and I practice yoga skills everyday.
Lately work became so boring and tedious! Mind you, this is what I love and I’m so blessed to be earning from my hobby but nevertheless, I was too tired of staying at the studio, same early morning routines and meetings with clients here and there!
That’s when I knew it was time for a break, with the busy schedules I had I wrote to my clients, got other yoga professionals to assist with work at the studio and I planned for a trip to Lagos.
I booked my flights planned for places to visit and just relax!
The change was amazing, staying in a different place, taking extra time to sleep, visiting some of my friends I haven’t seen in years brought a sense of direction to my life!
I went back to my yoga school and did a four days advanced teachers course for business owners and I went to my favorite places, read lots of books, went to the beach and of course I ate amazing meals.
THE LESSONS I LEARNED
- You can get bored from doing what you love everyday especially when it’s the same routine
- Taking time to rest or relax is not luxury, it’s necessary for one to function well
- Working so hard and not spending money or time on yourself is wrong!
- Finding happiness in what you do requires you to take a break sometimes!
- Going to a new environment is therapeutic for your mental health and allows you have a new perspective in life and business.
I got back from my trip to Lagos feeling energized to work, my clients missed me and I did too.
I feel more motivated to take my business to the next level because I have seen how other yoga professionals and their businesses operate in Lagos!
My advice is; if you need a break from work or something, don’t hesitate to plan for a break, it doesn’t have to be a big city. It can be your home town or a place you haven’t been to before!
Please Note; Every successful trip requires planning. Plan for your transportation, accommodation, feeding and other activities you want to try, that way you enjoy your trip better.
