Welcome to the 516th issue of @OCD Daily!
Issue #516 highlights content from six (6) Steem Content Creators! The OCD team continues its search throughout Steem to find you the undervalued gems, as provided by relatively new users.

We strive to find works that are created by newer Steem users, that may not have the audience with which to share their quality content. @OCD strives to help provide that audience and intends to showcase Steem users who put in the extra effort to create creative, original content.

A curator will FIND a piece of work (typically from newer users). Within 24 hours that piece has been submitted from the curator to the @OCD team, curator votes are tallied, and the pieces with the most votes are included in the compilation.

This feather flower hair clip is absolutely gorgeous and @aloha-creations hand made it herself. She uses white natural goose down, and it's a meticulous process to sort, trim, straighten and paint them. Then she has to carefully stick them together to create a flower. Finally she decorates them with pearls and crystal. It's fascinating to see her step by step process on how it all comes together. A true gem.

Growing your own food is great as you know where your food comes from and you can gift them to friends and family. But what about when you have excess? @prabalmallick had this problem with some surplus tomatoes. Luckily his sister is a budding chef and food blogger and wrote a post about how to preserve tomato. He posted her two recipes on how to make sun dried tomatoes and tomato paste.

It’s strawberry season in Japan and @noopu has taken us to Asuka Farm to find the best strawberries. I’m sooooo jealous she was able to visit this place as it is not far from Osaka and you are able to eat fresh strawberries for 30 minutes … drooollllll. She then took us tot see some plum flowers which are different to cherry blossoms but just as beautiful.

This poem and accompanying text is a heartfelt post that expresses the love of a daughter for a mother. The poem is a fantastic example of how modern poetry isn’t all about rhyming, rather creating unique ways to express feelings and situations through imagery. The poem shows that spark of creative use of language, and economy of words that is what sets poetry apart from fiction.
If the poem wasn’t enough, @carolkean underpins her feelings about her mother with a beautiful passage of writing reflecting upon her childhood and the things that influenced her toward a lifelong fascination for literature.
I barely remember my mom's father, who died young, but I would admire, on a shelf high above me, his 1920s editions of Plato, Aristotle, Marcus Aurelius, Tennyson, and other exulted (or is exalted?) authors who never tempted my mom to open those mellow, delicate, antique pages.
As this author often does, she gives us even more after providing these wonderful personal insights, by sharing a ballad, and brief review, of one her favourite poets; Robert William Service.
