There is nothing like visiting an old fashioned Sugar Shack at the local Maple Syrup Farm...
Even if you have to stay at least 6 feet away from everyone.
This is at the Fortune Maple Syrup Farm in Almonte Ontario.
The general rule of thumb is that it takes 40 parts maple sap to produce 1 part maple syrup. This translates into 40 gallons of sap to produce 1 gallon or syrup (or 10 gallons of sap for one quart of syrup).
My Video :
We have a lot of maples, but, unfortunately, this syrup is not popular. I doubt that someone is extracting maple juice, share the recipe, it will be interesting, sure.

The recipe is this..... collect about 40 litres of maple sap.... boil down until you have about 1 litre of syrup. Nothing else added.

Amazing I saw different varieties, different colors. Does it depend on the degree of digestion of the syrup, or on the type of maple?
