I have no idea about the best way to get the photos. I will say that really lasted well! Now as for the future I use Google Photos. I have it set up where it will automatically upload my pics. Not only is it seemless easy, unlimited and free, but it is really cool. For example you can have it search for subjects like certain people or sunsets! I love it lol. Good luck! I hope to see what you decide to buy.

I wasn't sure if it is was a good amount of time or not ... it was used pretty much every day, throughout the day ... although my sister's is still going strong. That reminds me, I'm going to have to set up Skype on this computer in order to chat with her hehe.

That's annoying. I've come to realise that backups are not a luxury after having hard drives die. Cloud storage can be a lifesaver. Hope you get your pics back. I know little to nothing about Apple devices.

Yes, I'm annoyed with myself as well. I'm surprised that it just went, there was no indication of deteriorating function. I spoke to a friend who said she'd had a similar experience. Oh well, another one for experience!
