It's a pizza day tonight and here is my take to a Homemade DIY pizza. Tasty and fresh!
Ingredients for the dough
All purpose flour, 4 cups
Instant yeast, 1 packet
Sugar, 1 tspn
Salt, 2 tsp
Olive oil, 2 tbsp
Water, 1 ½ cups, lukewarm
For the Toppings, you can put anything you like, and as much as you like. I had red capsicum, onion, corn kernels, pineapple and topped with coriander leaves and mozzarella cheese. I used tomato paste as my pasta sauce.
Procedure
- Preheat oven for 425 degrees Fahrenheit
- Combined All purpose flour, sugar, yeast and salt.
You can knead it by hand or use a stand mixer. - Add the water into the flour and knead not more than 10 minutes by hand or 8 minutes by mixer.
- Add the olive oil and knead well until the dough is firm.
- Grease a large bowl and transfer the dough. Cover and let it rest in a warm area until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Transfer the dough on a well floured surface, knead gently to deflate the air and cut it into two equal size.
- Flatten the dough with your rolling pin and form the shape you like, (circle/square).
- Place your dough in a lightly floured pan and brush it with olive oil for moisture.
- Next , add the rest of the ingredients.
- Bake it for 13 - 15 minutes. Enjoy!
Using Bread flour will give you a crispy crust, while All purpose will result to a chewy crust.
You can put anything you want for your toppings. No right and no wrong.
Delicious!
