I have noticed that since using Steemit, I have been more aware of my surroundings, and am always looking for something to write about. This was more emphasized by the writing challenge’s that are happening on Steemit now such as this.
Still, we need to do something else other than write, or at least I do!
I was driving down the coast road from South Shields to Seaburn last night for a bite to eat with my long term work colleague, @goblinknackers (forthcoming account pending), and looked in my car mirror to see this outstanding sunset. The cloud formation looked like a stingray with trailing wings and I simply had to stop and take several snaps while it was still there.
Apple IPhone’s are decent but they don’t really take in great sunsets and capture that golden hour so well.
I’m really glad I stopped for more than the reason of the photographs, as there was a cop car further ahead on the road waiting for speedsters. I may well have been a victim of his laser scanner device.
I was now running a little late and was wondering if @goblinknackers was actually going to kick me in the knackers, but fortunately he was OK about it. Our conversation quickly turned to Steem, and I’m sure he will be my next inductee.
The good thing about North-Eastern England is that a lot of things are cheap to buy. Restaurants always seem to have good deals, namely ‘happy hour’ ones, but for food!
So we headed for Santini’s, an Italian restaurant in downtown Seaburn. Garlic Mushrooms followed by Pollo Picanti was enough for me. I simply couldn’t find room for the dessert. They don’t use the Queen’s crockery, this is basic stuff.
3 courses for £10, and good food too? It makes a change from Geneva for sure.
A good night overall, and a distraction from my every growing addiction to writing and Steemit.
All photographs were taken by myself.
