So I've been super super busy lately as exams have been drawing near and classes have become also very frequent. I've had little time to focus on drawing as my grades too are important to me also.. However, I've fixed out time to attend to this order from a friend who needs to present a gift to her boyfriend for his birthday and what better choice of gift than an artwork.
My idea was to spend the shortest time possible on this job - two days to the good of it and that'd be all I'm willing to risk.
Tools
1. Gpc graphite pencil 8b
2. Steadtler pencil 6b
3. Mechanical pencils
4. Tombow mono eraser
5. Steadtler pencil F
6. Gloss cardboard paper
I started this differently from the way I normally draw which is drawing from the eyes. I chose to start from the cap and this was done with a lot of light shading and soft touches. I needed everything to be as soft as possible
I then moved to the eyes and began shading from there as usual. My usual procedure. I'm working with a blurry reference picture so I was not expecting the work to pop out as I tried to make it as vivid as I could make it.
I got through with the face and went straight to the background. His cloth was white so there was no need for stress. All I needed to do was to add a few shadows to the creases on the shirt and we were done. And oh... His necklace too.
I then moved on to making my border lines and background which added more pop to the picture.
Here's a shot of it after framing - it was delivered the next day.
