Some memories are worth remembering and this set of memories cannot be forgotten in a hurry. One of such memories are my days in the school. Believe me, the learning processes, the assignments, the early morning lectures, the quizzes, tests, examination, the boring long classes, the last night studies and readings etc all summed up to give me a very pleasant memory each time I get my attention drawn back to my days in school.
Thanks to the weekly challenge by @steemitblog, I will get to go over those sweet memories I had while in school.
Just stay with me till the end; you will certainly enjoy the ride. That I can assure you.
For the records, I will be sharing memories of the University days in this post. I attended the Federal University of Uyo situated in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, nigeria, West Africa where I pursued and obtained a degree in Petroleum Engineering. My period of study spanned from March 2014 to December 2019. I matriculated on the 16th of April 2014 which happened to be my birthday; this was the beginning of the journey and things was not all roses at start as I did not understand certain things just yet. Too bad I can get a hold on my matriculation photos at the moment.
After a successful project defense
I remember walking into the school premises for the very first day all lost. One could easily notice that I was a fresher and some persons took advantage of that. I also remember asking someone for a particular hall and the fellow purposely directed me to the wrong place; it wasn't funny at all. I also remember always rushing and struggling in my first year to take a seat in the first row and sometimes I will end up injuring myself. But all of that stopped as I progressed; it was not all about the first seat, not at all. Many sat on the front seat and still ended up failing the course.
There is this moment I cannot forget; in one of examinations in 300 level (my third year in school), I had gone to study all through the night whereas the examination was slated for 8:00 am, coming home in the wee of the morning to bath and prepare for school, I fell on my bed and slept past time for the exams. I woke up 30 minutes past the time in my house and reaching school, I was already 50 minutes late. Mehn, the experience wasn't funny, I was all tensed and scared that I won't be let in but thanks to God, the inviligators let me in and luckily for me, the exams was a 3 hours paper. Good news, I passed the course with a C grade all .
Fast forward to 2019, my final year in the University. This was where I had the sweetest memories because I knew the worthy stress was soon going to be over. I got involved in school politics for the first time, one of our course mates was vying for the position of the Faculty of Engineering President so, all hands were on deck to ensure he won; we did a lot of campaigns and he finally won in the elections.
The pictures below was taken after we wrote our final examination, I can still recall, it was on the course; Enhanced Oil Recovery. It was really fun after the examination. Every one of us wore a white T-shirt; many persons signed on the shirt, poured us water and drinks, we screamed and celebrated a whole lot.
Just enjoy the photos...
It was an amazing five years in the University, full of fun and lots of exposure. I got to meet new persons and many useful friends as well. I will do appreciate all my lecturers and tutors that impacted me during the course of my study.
Stay Safe!!
