Hello steemians!!...hope you’re well.
I decided to change the cushion cases in my living room. How did I come to this conclusion or decision??
Well I realized that I hadn’t changed or added anything in the living room.
This realization came because, besides my bedroom it’s the place I frequent and spend time the most.
Something felt boring because I noticed I hadn’t changed anything.
Well I had to something and I decided that the cushion cases would change something a bit.
So moving onwards, I thought of the various materials I could use. And alas!!!! The African fabric would be something I could use.
The thought of an African touch in my living room was so appealing.
Let’s talk about African fabric:
African fabric includes Kitengi, this is popular on the market. It originates from the western African countries like Ghana, Nigeria, Niger among others.
Kitengi is known for versatile and a range of beautiful prints. They are usually colorful and unique.
Most people use them to make clothes for wear especially on special occasions.
But actually the Kitengi can be used in any creative way as one can possibly get.
Moving forward, I had to decide on what print I wanted to use not forgetting other materials and accessories.
This could inspire someone so I’ll give a procedure:
- Measure the length and width of my cushions. Noted them down In inches.
- Measure the length and width of the cushions on to the materials I was going to use.
- Set aside the zippers, thread.
So in my case I decided to have a double faced cushion case, where by one side would have the African print and on the other side a plain black print.
Since the cushions are 9, I had to cut the exact pieces and make them 9 in total.
The above is what I used to make the cushion cases!!
Thanks for following and I hope that you’ve been inspired 😊...
