Contest: Tell about the exciting place you have been at in your country “Uganda”

Tell is about the exciting place you have been to in Uganda
Well, I have been to a number of places and had fun but I am going to talk about a beach party I went to with my friends at lido. Lido beach has turned out to be the most exciting place I have gone to in my country.

Personally, I love hanging out with my friends and so it happens last year that some one organized a beach party and invited people who were interested. I was soo excited and I dint want to miss out on this one. I didn’t have money to pay at the moment but I was helped by a friend. He payed for me and also gave me some money to use Incase I needed anything. We were to go to lido beach. The planned date was a Saturday and this kept worrying me because I needed to go and have fun with my friends and yet I have strict parents. There is no way I would talk to them about going to the beach and they let me. Since it was a weekend, I dint have lectures but I gave an excuse of having a test in the afternoon and so my mum allowed me to go. I dint tell her I was going to the beach. I only told her I was going to campus to do some reading and prepare for the test I had that evening (this was a lie though). So by 10 in the morning I had left home. I went to Nakawa and met up with my bestie as we proceeded to go to where the bus that we were to use was.

I took pictures on our way with my friend and we went early so that we could play for a longer time. I got an opportunity to make new friends at this time because I didn’t know everyone that had come. On the journey, we were telling stories, making jokes, laughing, it was really a good day.
We reached lido and the party organizer paid our entry fee. We then entered and since I love swimming, the first thing I did was going to the washrooms to change. I really had fun this day. I played m, danced, ran around with my friends, and a lot more.

I loved the fact that everyone was very free and we all just had one motive of having fun that day. We had a ball and so we played with it in the water, after sometime we set competitions of boys carrying girls on their backs as we race in the waters. My partner was a fat boy😂. The way I got tired because of the discomfort of my legs being so apart🤦‍♀️. But still I had fun because this boy was fast. We led all the races.

At around 5 in the evening, we all collected and prepared to cut our cake. We had come with a cake just for celebrating and eating. This alone also gave me joy because I love cake😋. I made sure I was soo close to the cake and ate as many pieces. The cake was big enough for all of us and it was self service. You would pick as many cakes as you could consume. Some playful people smeared our faces with the cake’s butter. This was also fun because we were running away from each other because we don’t want butter on our faces.

We then washed the butter off with the beach water and played in the sand. We had to cover some people up in the sand, other people were just interested in throwing sand at each other. It was really some precious time spent with friends.
I then sat somewhere with my bestie and we had a long conversation. We had good time and at around 6 no one was allowed to be in the water. We then bought fish and fries 🍟 and ate. After eating we danced till 9pm. We then set off for home. I was in the bus thinking about what excuse I was to give next for coming home late. On the way, my mum gave me a call and asked me why I am late and I told her that I had gone for a friend’s birthday after my paper. She dint complain but told me it was late. I then reached home safely and took a bath and had to sleep because I had a long day.
