Contest: How has the lockdown affected your life?

Hello wonderful family of steemians,I hope we are all well and being thankful for all that the Lord has done in our lives despite the sorrows and difficult times.

As I write this, my heart bleeds with sorrow and pain for the people we have lost and those fighting on for their lives due to covid19 which has brought about the second lockdown in Uganda. With the high numbers of people who are dying and those that are in hospitals not forgetting those that are nursing themselves at home because they cannot manage the expenses in hospitals.

The second wave of the covid19 pandemic has hit us so hard that we are living in fear. with it's great effect on people with the hundred lives that have lost their lives and so many who are battling hunger due to lack of food.
Everyone is struggling in one way or the other through this pandemic and we just need to encourage each other that we shall soon see better days ahead.

But what's saddening is that some people still ignore the fact that this virus is there and it's claiming many lives and only pin it on the government using it as an excuse to solicit money which is saddening.
It's because of such people that the numbers keep increasing simply because they don't want to protect themselves and keep ignoring the sops.

The first wave was just giving us a sign that many of us choose to ignore and after the lockdown, we thought, it was well and we were free not knowing that the worst is yet to come and now we are hit by the second wave and wondering when all this will be over.

Thanks so much, @yohan2on for organising this contest.it's relieving to write about the things that we are going through right now and it makes us feel better sharing our story knowing that there is someone out the to listen to us and tell us that all this will end,its just a matter if time and faith.

HOW HAS THE LOCKDOWN AFFECTED YOUR LIFE?

The lockdown has affected me financially, mentally and emotionally.

When the second lockdown was announced I was still picking my business up which was badly affected by the first lockdown. paying up the rent and trying to overcome the losses which i incurred during the first lockdown and before we knew it, I didn't even put back my business to 50% where it was.
With the second lockdown here I have lost hope and I am planning to just sell off what I am left with and do away with my bussiness. All is gone and financially I am looking up to the heavens for God to intervene because with a family to feed it's getting harder each day.
As bills of water and electricity are being postponed because I have to think about feeding and yet they are accumulating, with no hope of where to get money from.
As I speak my hope for source of income is steemit and nothing else.

It has affected me mentally and emotionally.the loss that I have gone through.
I have so far lost 3 relatives to covid 19 who I was not able to attend their burials due to the lockdown.
many of my friends and family are down with it fighting for their lives each day and this has made me sad each day that passes by.
When the lockdown was announced I had just paid schools for my kids who only studied for one week but the school said they will only give back half of the school fees and which means the half is just going to be taken like that this one hit me mentally and I felt like I was going to lose it but I consoled myself.
My kids are backsliding in their studies because they cannot concentrate on zoom which we have to pay for weekly.
The fact that they are to spend 2years in one class is too much to handle for me as a parent.it's worrying.

I can't say that lockdown has affected me positively because I haven't done anything new to develop me or to make my life better.
It is just a saddening situation that we are all experiencing.
We have to be strong for each other through these difficulties.everyone is fighting a battle that no one knows.
"Could this be the end of the world"? A question that I have heard many people ask.
It's just the matter of staying positive and having faith that we shall a new day indeed Will come.

" life imposes things on you that you cant control, but you still have the choice of how you are going to live through this"-celine dion

At this point I am grateful for the gift of health and family.
I continue to recollect my self that all this will come to end one day and we shall be able to testify the goodness of the lord and how we over came the covid 19 pandemic.

For God and my country,
Stay safe!
