  • SUBDAY PRAYER

Luke 12:22-23 (KJV); And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.

THE LAW OF CAUSE AND EFFECT

Our theme scripture has been misinterpreted to mean that as long as one has life, it does not matter whether they have a meal or not. As long as they have a body, it does not matter whether they have clothes or not. As such, the verse is used to water down the value of a man’s lifestyle in the misguided exaltation of life and body.

That is not God’s mind. The bigger picture herein is the law of cause and effect.

God is saying, if He gave you a body, He will surely clothe you. If He gave you life, He will surely feed you. The body is a cause, the clothes are merely the effect. Life is a cause, meat and food are the effect.

Effects follow causes. If God did the bigger and weightier thing which is life, how easy do you think it is for Him to give you food? If He gave you a body, won’t He also much more easily give you what to wear?

Understand the spiritual law of cause and effect and apply it to other areas of your life too.

He gave you a womb so that you may carry life. For this reason, you have the God-given right to reject any testimony of barrenness.

He gave you children so that they may grow up to be great and successful. For this reason, you reject anything that negatively affects the progress of your children.

Look at the great causes of His providence and know that the effects of them follow you.

Hallelujah!

GOLDEN NUGGET: Effects follow causes. If God did the bigger and weightier thing which is life, how easy do you think it is for him to give you food? If He gave you a body, won’t He also much more easily give you what to wear?

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. I know that I am in capable hands. Worry is very far from me. I look to You my provider, who will never allow me to lack. I live in the blessed assurance that I can never lack any good thing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
