Is the world overpopulated?

Dear readers,we do not believe that despite birth rates the world is overpopulated, but we do believe that the world is overexploited, bringing with it special phenomena from the political, social, environmental and economic spheres that come from production models that have led to the decrease of natural resources that significantly affect the survival of human beings on planet earth.

The globalized model of production has generated an economy based on the accelerated consumption of products due to a programmed obsolescence planned by the large transnationals whose objective is to remain in the market registering more money every day at any cost. In addition, they have used social networks as global media to strengthen large media campaigns based on marketing so that their products are purchased and replaced quickly.

In this sense, some countries are experiencing problems related to poverty and the deterioration of natural resources, which have been generated by inappropriate development models, which have led to the indebtedness of countries, due to the commercial and financial relations they have with capitalist entities, causing negative social and environmental impacts. In summary, the globalization of excessive production seeks to impose economic interests over different social and environmental situations.

Then the term overpopulation would not be referred to in terms of number of people per land area, it would be expressed in number of people by excessive levels of consumption, where some of those affected are the countries that have large reserves of natural resources, some of them have been plundered excessively to meet the consumerist needs of some developed countries.

Now, if that is the problem, how could I solve it? from our point of view the solution is simple, you just need to have the will and courage to implement it, we bet on sustainable development proposed worldwide in all areas of economic, the problem is that it is not applied in masses and that this paradigm is ignored, some people think it is a romantic way of seeing things, but I think it is a comprehensive way to look at our lives composed of economic, environmental, social and political.

To make sustainable development a reality, I would strengthen legal and educational methods, unfortunately sometimes it seems that the human being understands more by force, when I speak of force I mean feeling obliged to comply with certain laws, I would propose laws that carry fines for all types of companies in any area of production, for this, there are many trained professionals who can provide great solutions in different areas.

I would also increase educational models through social networks, we must make use of these spaces and create laws so that each social network is forced to socialize everything related to environmental education and the sustainable model. I know that some steps have been taken in this regard, but it seems that it is not enough, it must be transmitted that the sustainability of nature and the population is required, nature is the support of our life and subsistence, sustaining nature implies maintaining the integrity of natural processes.

Final considerations
In short, sustainable development is an opportunity for life, in which an exchange of ideas is proposed for the development of models of environmental recovery in various economic activities, considering everything that surrounds us, studying our environment well, since the global models of production and consumption are not adapted to the characteristics of each natural ecosystem.

Hello @amestyj

Good question, my immediate answer is YES, now beyond the own mistakes that we as a human species have made, the whole situation of disproportionate production has achieved widespread famine and this is a reality that states refuse to socialize. Thank you for sharing with the community this kind of content.

Best regards, be well.

Greetings dear friend @lupafilotaxia, the levels of exploitation of natural resources are very high every day becomes unsustainable and that is why natural resources are affected, because they try to take more than they should.

When solid policies are established in this regard, possibly a sustainable change will be achieved.

See you later, have a great week.

greetings @amestyj
The solution as you put it is sustainable development which has been talked about for several years , but the misnamed economic powers do not want to change their production styles which has generated more problems for the world which is leading us to destruction , The will is not present in them and it is unfortunate . Some divine calamity will have to happen for them to do the obligatory things.

Thank you very much for sharing your publication.

Hello dear friend @dgalan, it is very true what you mention, there is no will to solve the problem of exploitation and undefended use of polluting substances, every day it seems to be something normal, the organizations know what is happening but I imagine that they are afraid or simply receive benefits from these transnationals.

Until an even more severe climate disaster occurs, no action will be taken on the matter and let's hope it is not too late.

So long brother, have a great start of the week.

Hi @amestyj The relationship between the number of people on the planet and the amount of food is direct. Each individual needs a daily intake of two to three thousand calories, where the diet is balanced and full of necessary nutrients. As the number of people grows, the demand for food ultimately increases, increases global warming, environmental pollution, clashes for owning land or geographic spaces, very interesting publication with an extraordinary content, greetings and success.

Hello dear @aplausos, certainly there is a direct relationship between the number of people and the amount of food needed, but there are reports of countries such as the United States that have an excessively high level of consumption not so much of food but technological resources and for the development of these resources it is necessary to exploit certain natural resources. Destroying natural ecosystems.

Let's hope that awareness is raised and consumption levels are balanced. See you later, thank you for your valuable comment. Have a great week.

I think the causes of poverty and the deterioration of natural resources are far from "overpopulation". It's just a flimsy excuse that some governments use to cover up their inefficiency and corruption. If not, then why do the likes of China and USA have such strong economies?

Thanks for sharing

Greetings @qsyal, unfortunately there are some governments that overlap their inefficiency with these serious problems, but it is certainly a reality, consumption levels are very large especially in the countries you mentioned, if more is consumed of course more resources must be extracted, not only I refer to food but also to technological elements that require certain minerals for their production.

See you later, have a great week, thank you for your valuable comment.

The world is not overpopulated, resources are only being mismanaged, older generations took advantage of large populations to increase production, but our current world is doing the opposite.

Hi @joelagbom, I liked what you mentioned, we are managing our resources very badly and that is bringing serious repercussions to our natural ecosystems.

Thank you for your valuable comment, have a great week.

It is true that in some areas, there is overpopulation. You can see it as too many mouths to feed for a specific area to produce food. When you look at the general picture, the number of births has plateaued and has been declining in parts of the world. We see population increases because, with better healthcare, people live to be older.

I find the Population Pyramid an excellent resource for comparisons.

Ideally, governments protect us from corporations when they get too big. Who protects us from governments. In Canada, the Dairy industry is regulated by a Supply Management System. The farmers came together and formed the Milk Marketing Board decades ago. It protects the farmers on how much they get paid. Now a city politician who has never had dirt under his nails has decided he doesn't want it.
The only problem with Socialism or Communism is that humans get involved.
