Whales activities can be 2-faced:

  1. when they buy and HODL or to provide liquidity on a protocol, price of the token or coin rises tremendously.

  2. When they sell, price dumps and might lead to rug-pull if the projects lacks substance like enduring and broad utilities. Take for instance, when Elon Musk and the US government sold huge amount of their BTC holding, the price of BTC dipped drastically.
