Day by day we continue to fight against the deadly virus that definitely changed the way of living on our planet and it is COVID-19, this virus since its arrival has caused the death of millions of people in the world and although biosecurity measures have been established to control the chain of infection, vaccines have been developed to create defense mechanisms against, this virus continues to harm the world population and even more to people who have any disease such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity and now Chagas disease is added to it.
Patients with Chagas disease, which is a parasitic disease caused by the protozoan Trypanosoma cruzi, manifest more easily the severe symptoms of COVID-19 and these patients should be prioritized for the application of the vaccine against COVID-19. According to a report issued by the World Health Organization (WHO), the more than six million people infected with the parasite must be urgently attended to, and most of them are located in Latin America. This means that vaccination centers must prioritize those who should receive the vaccine urgently and those who should not.

It is well known by many that Chagas disease is an endemic disease in 21 countries of the American continent and the migration of sick people with this disease can cause them to arrive in non-endemic countries, since its form of contagion is vectorial through hemiptera or bedbugs that can infect people who are exposed to their bites. In the case of chronic Chagas disease, it usually produces prothrombotic states, cardiac alterations and secondary thrombotic strokes, making people more vulnerable to COVID-19.
In conclusion, we can say that the institutions responsible in each country for administering the vaccine against COVID-19, should plan and prioritize who should be vaccinated urgently, the people who should be prioritized for vaccination are those who have chronic diseases such as Chagas disease, as they are vulnerable to infection and even to die more quickly because of their condition, since the Sars-CoV-2 virus is deadly to a high degree in people with chronic affectations.
If covid alone is terrible I can't even imagine how much worse it is when combined with another pathology.
In my family circle, several people had covid, but it was because they didn't protect themselves, however they managed to get rid of the disease.
