Greetings to all my dear and esteemed readers of this platform, giving continuity to my publications in technological area today I will share a news that is undoubtedly setting the standard in legal cases that are resolved by lawyers and is that the AI through a software can perform legal advice to its users, it is the DoNotPay application.

DoNotPay is an application which allows to solve cases such as parking tickets, its creator Joshua Browder calls it the first robot lawyer in the world, we all know that AI and computer programs that have the ability to think and update themselves are being increasingly used in the legal field and DoNotPay is an example of this, but would people really trust a software or robot to help them solve their legal problems? This question will only be answered as this new way of practicing law is implemented.

DoNotPay works in the following way, through a chat bot you indicate what your problem is, automatically the software recommends the best legal option you can assume before that legal problem, users can describe their problem in a simple way with their own words and DoNotPay has a machine learning model that is able to organize in a legal way the chat expressed by the user.

Its developer or creator Joshua Browder manifestoi that this idea came after he had been reprimanded several times with fines for bad parking of vehicles and did not pay because he was still in high school, but Browder found a way to challenge the fines, because if you know what to do and say you can save a lot of time and money he said. So instead of copying and pasting the same documents over and over again, he thought this would be perfect for a software application, giving birth to the first version of DoNotPay, which means don't pay in Spanish.

Since then the application has spread throughout the UK and the United States and now this software can help you write letters about legal matters such as insurance claims, tourist visa applications, complaints to a company or local entity, among many others. Although it is not yet ready to take on large legal cases, this application has already positioned itself in the world of law as a possible solution to many problems that users face when having to find a lawyer to solve their problems.

Greetings @carlir this seems wonderful to me "The idea came after being issued several times with fines for bad parking of vehicles and did not pay because he was still in high school"

As can be seen in the quote, this character developed a fantastic process through problematic solutions and from this perspective it is where the best advances in society will be generated.

Very entertaining the article you share ...

Greetings @carlir 💕😊

I'm just hearing about the DoNotPay AI technology for the first time and I must say the developer has really done a great job in coming up with such software which will help to reduce stress by legal practitioners since the technology will be able to solve legal cases and it's really great the technology is now accepted in USA and UK, I also hope similar technology get to Africa too.

Thanks for sharing this great post with love from @hardaeborla and I hope you have a great day ahead 💕😊

Very interesting application that you teach us friend @carlir, certainly in this case where the argumentation is about citing legal documents and jurisprudence this type of resources is quite valid, it would be necessary to see how it works with the subject of argumentation through the assessment of attitude of the accused, of cell phones for the commission of crimes or in the assessment of the intentionality of the accused, that's where I think it's going to be a bit complicated for the AI.

On the other hand, I wanted to tell you that reading the title of your publication, I don't know why but the first thing I thought of was the movie Yo Robot by Will Smith, if you haven't seen it I recommend you do it, analyze many of the moral and ethical complexities of the human-robot relationship.

Greetings my friend!

hello @carlir,
I think for simple things if they have validation or in cases of legal problems where there is a lot of bureaucracy, but if we talk about cases where the data is not clear I doubt that a person would trust an AI to defend him, I do not know where this trend will end but if it continues like this in a few years AI will deliver justice to people, a not very promising scenario for people who commit crimes based on their knowledge of how the law works, such as politicians and corrupt officials who take advantage of their knowledge of the law and legal loopholes to commit crimes

Hi @carlir
First time I know about this. I see more and more areas where you can see the impact of technology.
I have seen a lot of the use of it in medicine, engineering, but this is the first time I see it in the legal area. Cool. Let's see what else we can see next.

And what would happen if the robot is on the other side as a judge and assumes the law as it should be, and not as it is customary to use the law and its loopholes, for example the law says not to steal and you get caught stealing, and because of the traps of the law the one who stole got out of jail.
Then I imagine a robot applying the literal law, so more than one will not be saved.

I think it should be like that.

Greetings @lanzjoseg, certainly your approach would be very interesting, because currently the judges are very corrupt and leave in freedom to people who deserve to be behind bars, well hopefully this is the beginning of a real change with AI.

The technology of robotics is advancing astronomically. I have seen robotics applied in many fields, like medicine, manufacturing, etc, but I have not seen it in the legal field. Sounds cool.
However, I hope these robots have laws guiding them? So that they will not go rogue.

Nice piece buddy. Thanks for sharing

Hello friend @samminator, the technology through the AI in the juridical thing can be the change that the laws are waiting, because this way it would be avoided that the criminals remain in freedom, on the knowledge of the laws I suppose that they will create software dque contain all the laws so that they can consult them in real time and give their vered.

Greetings friend, I had already read about this interesting application, although it may not be able to take on big cases it is already a big step that it can provide an effective defense to fine cases, a service that can be very much in demand and that perhaps an expensive legal advice is not worth it, not to mention that it opens the way for other similar applications.

Greetings @emiliomoron, yes it really is not yet for big cases, but they are important steps towards a digital legal era, where justice is truly imposed.

Hello @carlir

A few days ago I shared an article about this interesting topic, it is very true what you mention "although it is not yet ready to take on large legal cases...., it has positioned itself in the world of law as a possible solution to many problems..., by having to find a lawyer to solve their problems", I think this is one of the most significant advances in social that has shown us the advances in AI so far.

Best regards, be well.

Greetings @lupafilotaxia, certainly still need to expand more to be able to take on bigger things within the legal, but as you point out these are already important pass, with the simple fact of not having to look for a lawyer and pay their onorairos is already a lot.

Thank you for your contribution.

Greetings @carlir, thank you for sharing with everyone this topic concerning the part of law that can become exercised by a robot. It is important to highlight how artificial intelligence has managed to match in a certain way the capabilities of a machine with those of the human being who is considered such a complex being. Let's hope that these advances continue to develop and achieve more than what has been established. Greetings

Greetings @sidalim88, certainly the AI is giving important advances in all areas where it is present, and the legal branch will be fundamental because it avoids so many cases of corruption that have been seen and judge innocent people or let criminals go free.

Artificial intelligence is making a huge progress.in this article we have seen the lawyers in future more to come.

Elon must recent tell the Tesla robot and it's progress. In the near future this whole world will be full of robot that will do normal work.

But their will be a always a loophole as Robot cannot perform all task like feelings and attachments. As a lawyer we need to understand person mind also and its mental condition which will have to develop in future.

It seems to be very fashionable to talk about artificial intelligence, in my opinion the AI that exist are only a set of responses that can be given from a possible results previously programmed, from there to be able to think or have criteria we are far from that, Of course, this does not mean that they cannot simplify repetitive or predictable jobs.

Well there are already many apps that handle medical, mechanical, sports and AI lawyers were not going to be left behind.
thanks for sharing

Greetings my friend @joseph1956, that's right and the legal part would not be the exception, the important thing to note is that it started and can be used in small cases such as traffic fines.
