A few months ago they announced the release of the new stage of Axie Infinity, which is called Axie Origin, with it they generate a new game method to which people have hoped that its price can improve, but the new version of the game still does not produce token, and they do not have new burning methods for the SLP that can reduce the amount of SLP in circulation.
New updates are expected with the passing of the days, with which they intend to implement the new burning methods, and manage to recover a little the market price, despite the new game model came out, the price of SLP and AXS decreased again, as can be seen in the 2 images, both tokens have had a great loss of value in the last 3 days, so it is considered that, despite having the new project underway the negative situation continues to affect the market price, we must continue to wait to know what happens.
Greetings @chucho27, respecting your opinion regarding the value of the SLP and AXS let me report that with the launch of Axie Origin on April 7 the SLP token had a small rally one day before Axie Origin went out in its testing phase, the value again pulls back with the recent drop in the value of BTC dragging down all cryptocurrencies in the market.
Now well I share with you that there is still a lot of SLP being generated and there is no burning method to counter this, hopefully when Axie Origin is fully in development this situation will change.

The economic and financial situation in Axie Infinity is not simple at all, since beyond the new updates and new burning methods, to get the price of both SLP and AXS to recover you need to attract new investors, and for everything that in recent months has happened the situation for new people to invest is quite difficult, since there is no confidence in the game.

Hello dear friend @chucho27, certainly exie infinity has had strong problems lately, besides the little burn of the slp token this one lies at a very low price. That the game is now a free to play, if it becomes entertaining possibly have new investors, which allow to have an organic growth.
