End sars memorial protest - The day Nigeria murdered her citizens

Its been exactly a year since the End Sars protest massacre that claimed the lives of numerous innocent Nigerians at the famous Lekki Tollgate plaza in Nigeria. Youths all over the country are joining in to participate in the memorial event

Despite the ban enforced by the government and local authorities on the memorial event. The memories of last year are just so indelible, a happening that can never be ignored or forgotten and in this vein, Celebrities, activities and motorists far and wide have joined a car procession at the memorial protest at this same venue waving flags of the country.

Is it still worth anything to fly the same flag that was flown before Nigeria massacred her citizens? I ponder this. Despite this, reports have surfaced that police have begun making arrests at the memorial rally. It's clear that no matter how many people are arrested, the situation will not be resolved. Arresting nonviolent protesters at this point would be counterproductive. More importantly, any use of force by the military could result in yet another black day in the country's history.

To everyone participating in the memorial event, stay safe out there.
Please for those with vehicles, ensure to stay inside the vehicle while protesting.

WE WILL NEVER FORGET THE FALLEN

A very sad day that many people will live not to forget. A day Nigeria kill their citizen and innocent blood was shed. A very sad day to remember for

A black day in the history indeed

There are many countries in which police violence and mistreatment are part of our daily lives, we regret commemorations like this one, where reason and the right to protest are curtailed.
thank you for your report, hoping for better things in your country.

Thanks for the kind words @joseph1956. Hopefully, things would take a turn for good :)

It is very unfortunate to read this. I didn't know that something so unfortunate happened in your country. Aren't governments there to protect their citizens and defend them? To see us being liked and killed by those who should be looking out for us must be very sad. It is a betrayal.

I wish things will get better. Best regards.

Well said. That component of trust in the government is something that can never be regained again. Not after the manipulations that occured during the massacre. It was a coordinated attack, in hope to shut the citizens up but alas, it ended well.
Thanks for your thoughtful comment @garybilbao, nice of you to come by :)

It is indeed a sad situation, I really wish the country could change for the better and the lives of those lost will not go in vain.

Citizens lose faith in this country as the day goes by, I also do but I'd cling on to the last thread of hope left in this country. It all depends on how the next set of officials in power govern.

I really wouldn't wish for the devil I know over the angel I don't in this situation
Thanks for stopping by @bimbo45, your presence is highly appreciated ;)
