Never try to get over something.
Yeah. Don’t do it.
You can move on. You can move ahead. But don’t exhaust yourself trying to get over it. I might be the first person to say this and it does sound very unhelpful. You wouldn’t want to relive that trip. You’d want to believe that you never made that decision. You’d force yourself to stop thinking about that boy. You’d want to forget the friend who walked out on you. You’d want you move on. You can move on. But do you really want to get over it? Like none of it ever happened?
Those were experiences. You didn’t know that trip would be as bad as it turned out to be. You fell in love and had to fall out of it. Nothing could’ve told you that that decision would be a bad one. Maybe it wasn’t. Maybe you’re going to make worse decisions in future. You lived through these hard times. You faced them; you survived them. All of what you’ve been through is what has made you the person you are today.
Don’t exhaust yourself trying to get over it. If it didn’t break you, it isn’t meant to be forgotten. It was a phase; a part of your life.
And love, try all you want, you can’t get over life. Not until it ends.

This is nice honestly.
The best decision to do here is to move on.
