Hello Everyone!!! I hope you are having a great time over there? It's really nice to see you visit my blog today and I must say I'm really happy to have a great personality like you visiting my blog today 😊. Thank you once again 💕
There's definitely no doubt that most of us are quite familiar with the phrase "The Customer is Always Right". Even though this statement is widely used in most business organisation and the astonishing part of it all is that some widely known business men do make use of this statement. I kept pondering over this act for some period of time and I kept asking myself Is the Customer Always Right as most people do say?🤔
Even though we may have different point of view regarding this, I believe it's high time we started to have different perception about this statement due to the fact that some customers are now hiding under this statement for their personal gains or benefit.
Today I'll be sharing with you Five Reasons that proves the customers isn't always right and I definitely hope you will find this educating. Check out the five reasons below;
#1 PRICE DECISION
There's actually no doubt that negotiation is a common factor that tends to bring about common misunderstanding between a customer and an entrepreneur. The major goal of every entrepreneur is to make profit but unfortunately the some customer ultimate goal during negotiation is to avoid being cheated by the entrepreneur or business owner.
It's really quite funny how you see some customers bidding at a very low price during negotiation. They tend to bid very low below the cost price of the product or the service you tend to render for them. In this case, the customer is not right!!
As an entrepreneur or business owner, you determine the value of your products and not the customers. If you feel you will make good profit or you feel comfortable selling your products or rendering your services to the customer then you go ahead with the deal but if you think you will run at loss accepting the offer, the best you can do is to decline the negotiation or turn the offer in a calm and respectful manner.
In summary and conclusion, the customer has no right to make it imperative upon you to sell your products or services to him/her at his/her fixed price. You determine the value or price of your products or services not the customer. The customer can only take part in negotiation of your products or services but he/she has no right to determine the price value of your products or services.
#2 EMPLOYEE DEFAMATION
When it comes to product disparagement and human defamation, some customers shouldn't be left out regarding this act. Some customers don't mind slandering or libelling both your workers and product whenever a little misunderstanding occurs.
I have seen cases where workers get fired for no genuine reason other than customer falsely accusing them for what they didn't do. Its high time entrepreneurs needed to start listening to the opinions of their employees or workers before taking any grave judgment or decision towards their workers because you aren't meant to believe all what is being said by the customer all in the name of customer is always right.
In summary and conclusion, some companies are crumbling while some workers are loosing their jobs due to false allegation by customers all in the name of customer is always right. Entrepreneurs and business owners need to star thinking from a different perceptive other than allowing mere customers tarnish the lives of workers while under the shade of customers are always right. This also explains why customers have no right to tell you whom you fire or sack in your company just because of a little misunderstanding.
#3 TECHNICAL PROJECT DECISION AND IMPLEMENTATION
There's definitely no doubt that clients or customers have the right to tell you what they want as regards to the kind of service you render or product you sell. There are actually some cases whereby the customer decision about some specific project or task can be be dangerous and this may sometimes lead to loss of lives and properties.
A good scenario can be observed in the recent collapse of seven storey building which happened in Nigeria leading to a great loss of lives and properties. Some sources claimed that the engineer and contractor responsible for the construction already instructed the client that the land isn't suitable for such construction but the client insisted that was what he wanted. Probably, the engineer and contractor fell for the "customer is always right" doctrine which led to the execution of the construction project back then and now lot of lives and properties were lost.
In summary and conclusion, the customer isn't always right when considering some technical decision which is meant to be made by the expert handling the project. We shouldn't corroborate with inexperienced customers decisions just because we want to please them when knowing such decision can cause great harm to the environment and loss of lives. I think every worker should take this very important most especially those in the engineering, environmental and health field.
#4 INFRASTRUCTURAL DAMAGE & EMPLOYEE HARASSMENT
The last but not the least has to do with customer damaging your company properties probably because of a little misunderstanding occurring between you and customer or probably due to the mental health of such customer. Some customer tend to be highly aggressive whenever they get angry and this will definitely make them want to destroy anything destroyable in your organisation.
I've heard cases of misunderstanding between an aggressive customer and an employee in which the customer had to aggressively fling a pen from the company's table to the attendant all because the customer was angry waiting for a longer period of time outside the office before should could be attended to. This is really a very bad act most customers need to eradicate from their lifestyle when dealing with workers. It's really unfair treating workers like slave to the extent of harming them just because you want to be satisfied as a customer.
No customer has the right to damage your company facilities the same way they have no right to injure your employees all in the name of customer is always right. I see no offence inviting legal practitioners to such cases even though if it means loosing such customer. Always remember not everyone is required to be your customer, you have to be very careful in selecting the right customer and this is why the right customers you've selected as your customer will always be right while the wrong customers will always be wrong.
In summary and conclusion, you are meant to value the health of your workers and the same way you should value your company's infrastructural facilities. You shouldn't be stuck with the impression of customers are always right and watch some customers destroy your working facilities and harass your employees due to the aggressive nature of the customer.
