Possessing a customer friendly nature is an act that is valuable for every good business, when customers feel they are getting the right service from your interaction, they keep coming back to get from you. Customer service is a way to handle competition in business, your customer service habit will make you get better sales and higher returns even when you have lots of people competing with you. Here are simple gestures that will help improve your customer based relationships.

Greet customers appropriately, never make them feel ignored. You might have two or three customers with you at the same time, you need to look for a way to attend to all of them without making one person feel less than the other and greeting is one way to keep them aware that you will be with them shortly. You need to be able to say words that will make your customers know that you are available to offer the service they need, (e.g.) you are welcome Sir, and how may I be of help to you? Have you been to any of our branches before?

Smiling is a factor that is easily ignored in businesses, having a beautiful smile is one way to attract customers and constantly have them come back to you. There are some people who smile naturally but for others, smiling seem to be a difficult task for them, in order to gain and win customers, a beautiful smile is necessary which means that while in business, every form of pain should be ignored and customer satisfaction picked squarely.

Let your customers understand the benefits of the service you are rendering and what makes your service better than others, take them through the steps of what it means to have a complete transaction, take them through various options you have available (if there is any) and let them choose the one they are more convenient with without influencing their decisions except you are asked to do so. Do not make the mistake of jumping into quick conclusions with customers or deciding for them.

Make yourself and your business available for customers, when customers do not find your business available it is always convenient for them to opt for better options. Your customers should be able to get your services as quick as they want it.

Try to give your total attention to customers while they are with you, customers love to feel special and they like to know that they have your total attention and it will be good for you to give them the required attention.

It is a good idea to get the contacts of customers in order to provide effective follow up on the services rendered.

Dear @Ireti, this is really a hit point in business success. I have personally been on the two sides of the coins as relating with customer relations and I can tell the stories. Customers are simply the best form of promoting a business. They do it for free. All it cost is making them feel like kings and queens.

Yea... King and Queens is what a customer wants. Make them feel special and they will keep coming.

It takes a good mannered person to make a good business, greeting and smiling is part of building good manners.

A simple "welcome"and "goodbye" is enough reason to have people come back to an organisation. Thanks for the comment.
