Can we live a near 100% Virtual Life?

Apart from the basic needs, can we have a 100% Virtual Life?

Aristotle the legendary Greek philosopher said, “Man is by nature a social animal; an individual who is unsocial naturally and not accidentally is either beneath our notice or more than human. Society is something that precedes the individual.”

Does being "social" only means hanging out with friends and family members by being physically present?

But as society is evolving the definition of "SOCIALLY ACTIVE" will have to CHANGE

Why do people engage in social gatherings?

It's all about a state of emotion or a feeling that we get when we are present in a social gathering and it is only about emotions, can't we enjoy the same feeling by being online?

It may feel a little awkward for the ones who are habitual to the old ways but for the next generation, they get the same emotions through the online mode too.

Near 100% Virtual Life

As more and more sophisticated technologies will arrive in the near future, a near 100% virtual life is not far away. If we want to understand this clearly we must accept that most of the activities we are engaged in are related to luxury and not survival.
It is true that some basic survival activities cannot be replaced virtually but for the rest, we will have a virtual alternative.

The next generation kids are no longer attracted ot the luxury activities of the previous generation, they have their own luxury activities online. Online space is becoming more creative to engage the next generation.

Today thousands of relationships are based on the internet in an online or virtual way, we are not so far away from the fact that we can easily lead a virtual life with another person from miles away. Socialization has been transformed in such a way that people who found it difficult to socialize have found in these networks the easiest way to relate to each other.

Surely there are ones who have found this new way of lifestyle as a boom.

In the event that we cannot live a 100% virtual life, I think we can get very close with all the technological advances we are living.

Greetings and thanks for your contribution.

Yes Possible!

hello @knowledgefruit,
I don't think it will be possible to live 100% in virtual reality, I think that in a few years the human being will merge with technology and this will keep us more connected to the web but human relationships will remain for the human being the pillar of our whole society.

Soon virtual reality will not only be a thing of games or entertainment, we could have real social environments, as we have them physically today, where we can enjoy meetings. We still have to wait a long time to know how this will change the concept we have of society, or if it will lead us to a bifurcation of it.

Yes.
Future will tell what is in store for us.

It's kind of promoted among people to make it easy to lockdown them. When someone is home he/she feels in total security. But, that's not always the case. Usually people at home are so relaxed and they don't expect any danger and that's the easiest way to attack people in any form. So, those fake actors just want to show people that's fine to live always home. While we need fresh air to breath and to go out to have a better immune system. Even those mosquitoes may help us in getting it.

So, going 100% virtual is like slowing killing yourself.

Thanks for sharing the views.
But this post is not about the changes that we have to undergo by the imposed lockdowns.
Rather it is about the changes that technology is bringing.
As technology is evolving the lifestyle is changing, this post highlights that aspect.

We may feel online/virtual world as lockdown but not to the next generation kids who is living this way, irrespective of the lockdown.

Thanks Again.

I see this 100% virtual life soon to be a reality with the way the world is heading to. But I find it difficult for humans to cope with it in the nearest future

Yes, in near future the transition phase will be difficult for the ones who are in habit of old ways.
But the change will happen for sure.

Greetings @knowledgefruit virtuality has occupied spaces unthinkable years ago, every time we perform activities remotely osea not face to face, this is changing the way of socializing human beings. The important thing is to adapt and use it for the common good.

Yes.
The common good has to be taken into account.

Greetings @knowledgefruit, Technology increasingly occupies important spaces in our lives, even the arrival of the pandemic has accelerated the realization of social meetings virtually, specifically distance learning classes. So soon almost everything will be done virtually.

Absolutely.
Pandemic has acted as a catalyst.

leading a near 100% virtual life is getting more and more real
Thanks to the tech around us and its availability to the average Joe it is becoming a reality.
Indeed man is a social animal however he is getting more cosy and comfortable in the virtual world so who can complain?

Yes , people are getting cozy with the virtual world.

If we want to understand this clearly we must accept that most of the activities we are engaged in are related to luxury and not survival.

Every generation has its own trends, so we can read in history books that most people all over the world were trying to survive rather than live, which is far different from what we see now, where we see people in their 20s and 30s saying they can't live because they don't have such a thing, which is most of the time not crucial at all, but that's how life goes.

Following the trend and socializing with people online is really preferable to waiting for life to return to normal, which may take years, who knows, so being involved in the online world sooner rather than later is preferable.

Agreed!
Eventually we have to change, so why not now.
