How close are we to the technological singularity?

It is not easy to write objectively about technological singularity, because, if we have not yet reached the rationality to solve the serious problems that our natural ecosystems are going through, it is a great contradiction to pretend to reach exponentially the highest technological development in order to solve the challenges of humanity.

Beyond this remarkable contradiction, it is estimated that we are getting closer and closer to reaching technological singularity, that is, closer to reaching the moment in which technological development will reach an unprecedented point, a moment absolutely different from everything that has gone before, because machines will equal and surpass human intelligence.

For some experts in this field, as humanity we first have the great challenge of learning to reason in a totally different way, to open our minds to understand a change that will lead to the end of the human age, as we know it now, allowing us to create mechanisms that tend to provide real answers to the problems that currently afflict humanity.

In the context of current modernity, it is assumed that devices are already capable of moderately matching the intellectual capabilities of any human being, so conducting more basic research would create innovative or disruptive conditions, which will undoubtedly enable technological devices to surpass the intellectual capabilities of the human species.

Surpassing the intellectual capabilities of the human species will imply that we will enter the so called technological singularity, which is perhaps a vague and confusing concept, but which has gained acceptance in recent years, precisely due to the great advances in artificial intelligence.

I would like to know your position on how close are we to the technological singularity?.

Hello @lupafilotaxia

we are getting closer and closer to reaching technological singularity, that is, closer to reaching the moment in which technological development will reach an unprecedented point, a moment absolutely different from everything that has gone before, because machines will equal and surpass human intelligence.

You've actually nailed the point here! Technology is really growing more than we can ever imagine. I watched a video recently about different water closet being operated with remote in such a way that you don't need to use any of your fingers or hand to clean yourself, the closet does it for you and you also have the chance to select the temperature of the water to use for cleaning. Technology has really gone beyond what we can ever imagine and we just have to keep expecting more discoveries.

Thanks for sharing this great post with love from @hardaeborla and I hope you have a great day ahead 💕❤️

Hello friend @hardaeborla

That's right, and that exponential growth at technological level in recent years (from my point of view) begins to confirm that we will soon enter that technological singularity, where in the market we can find devices that will surpass human intelligence. First time reading about what you mention about toilets. May you also have a happy and productive day.

Best regards, be well.

Same here 😊👍

hello @lupafilotaxia,
I personally do not believe that we are close to the technological singularity since this implies that machines can think for themselves, what I do agree is that advances in this field are going by leaps and bounds in a few years the gap between countries that have access to artificial intelligence and those that do not will be much larger because the first use of this technology is war, if we think for a moment to have access to the technological singularity is equal to having nuclear weapons today.

I think it's inevitable, in a sense. Machines surpass us in things we cannot do, but the curious thing is that they are designed by humans themselves. It is inevitable, but at the same time I think they will have limits, they will surpass us in some aspects, but in others we humans will continue to be superior.

Hi friend @garybilbao

It makes sense what you mention, I also assume that at this rate of exponential growth at a technological level, it will be inevitable that technological devices will surpass human intelligence, the point is that our limitation is that we are slow to process data, therefore, if devices can process data faster than us, we will not be superior in those scenarios and what is ahead of us is a totally unknown world.

Best regards, be well.

Greetings friend. Certainly the pace of technological development, especially in computing, makes this hypothesis of a world controlled by some AI, which seems pure science fiction, does not sound completely far-fetched.

Hello friend @emiliomoron

As I mentioned before, at this rate of exponential growth at the technological level, it won't be long before devices that surpass human intelligence.

Best regards, be well.

Wonderful writing @lupafilotaxia, your words are arrange like a poem but really telling us about life. I will we say, technological singularity is just a the corner meaning it very close.

Hello @cryptocheta

Thank you for your positive words, I also see it the same as you, the advances in technology are becoming more and more impressive, so, the technological singularity is closer than what many see as something far away.

Best regards, be well.

Yes it is very true @lupafilotaxia thanks.
Warm regards.
