Greetings and welcome dear readers of this prestigious platform, especially to all those who make daily life in the community of @Projecthope, this delivery is associated with the activities of man that generate destabilization in the balance systems of our planet, which brings as consequences alarming effects on the system and life on earth.
In this sense, it is no secret that the overexploitation of natural resources, the pursuit of development and the processes associated with modernization have unleashed serious damage to our planet, damage that is taking its toll and consequently reducing human survival time on earth.
Therefore, in this article we will be dealing with the use of fracking as a strategy to obtain the greatest amount of fossil hydrocarbons from our planet, in a more efficient way, according to some experts.
In this sense, it is appropriate to ask ourselves what is fracking and what does this practice consist of? And to answer these questions we must know that fracking, also known as hydraulic fracturing, is a technique that allows the stimulation of oil and gas wells in order to obtain maximum performance.
It is based on vertical drilling, cementing and casing of the different layers of soil to a depth exceeding 2500 meters, which allows to generate different permeable channels through the injection of water at high pressures, which allows to break the rocky resistance and consequently generate controlled fractures that will give access and exit to the gas or hydrocarbon present in the subsoil.

It is necessary to point out that the water used throughout the process is previously mixed with different chemical substances that allow to generate an enlargement in the previously generated fracture.
Based on the above, a new question arises: What are the environmental risks produced by fracking? According to the observations made by environmentalists, the technique is capable of generating contamination of nearby aquifers, elevated water supply, atmospheric contamination, soil contamination and seismic effects associated with it.
At this point, we will focus our attention on the consequences on the soil and the seismic processes generated by fracking, since a direct relationship between the use of fracking and some seismic movements of variable behavior detected in areas surrounding the implementation of the extraction technique has recently been scientifically correlated.
Consequently, and according to data provided by a group of researchers from the Geological Survey of Canada and the German University, the earthquakes detected are slower but with a longer duration, which represents the degree of destabilization of the tectonic layers produced by this irrational practice

Although the generation of the earthquakes has not been proven with certainty, it is assumed that they are associated with a significant increase in the tension of the rock, which generates secondary fractures to those used for extraction, fractures that end up compromising the subway rocky areas and consequently triggering earthquakes.
In this sense, according to the researchers, we are in the presence of a new type of seismic movement, which they have called hybrid frequency wave earthquakes because of its variable behavior.
Although the real effects of this type of telluric movement are not yet visible, it allows us to generate a precedent to set aside the unsustainable practices associated with fracking, so I would like to know your opinion about the use of these practices that generate effects on the balance of our planet.

Hello friend @madridbg, it is a reality that in the name of progress has been carried out processes that have caused serious damage to our planet, and this fracking process is one of the most damage is doing, which demonstrates our immense need for obtain fosil fuels regardless of environmental damage and little interest in side effects on the ground.

Greetings @yusvelásquez I agree with you because as a society we have focused on economic welfare and we have forgotten the balance that should exist in the social and environmental, hence, that so many conditions occur. Greetings

hello @madridbg,
This is a very aggressive practice with the planet, although it is possible to obtain more benefits in terms of oil production the reality is that this practice pollutes the water and scientists mention that it destabilises the different layers of the earth, recently a group of scientists protested against these practices saying that if they continue implementing this type of aggressive techniques with the planet the damage will be irreversible and that very probably the planet will suffer a climate change that will lead to the extinction of the human being.

Greetings @trabajosdelsiglo no doubt the effectiveness is greater but on a planetary level we are paying a great cost for human irresponsibility. Greetings

Hello @madridbg, I do believe that the generation of earthquakes due to fracking is possible, since if there is a significant fracture of the rock/soil, there is also a volumetric change in the sub-soil due to the same fracture and displacement of the rock material and the extraction of gas, so logically movements of the subsoil detected as earthquakes will be generated, this hypothesis would be generating some necessary studies to establish better fracking strategies in order to minimize the risks associated with this practice.

Greetings @tocho2 the environmental problems and imbalances caused by this practice at the subsoil level are worrying, as it can generate catastrophic situations in areas close to the implementation of this practice.
