Greetings and welcome, dear readers of this exciting platform, this installment serves as a conceptual approach to some research that is being carried out in order to identify some effective treatments for the treatment of brain cancer.
In this sense, we will give an explanation to the theme supported by the research that has been carried out from the spaces of the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, specifically from the Center for Research and Study of the Genome, where it has been possible to determine that the injection of concentrations of the ZIKA virus under controlled parameters, manage to eliminate the affections caused by cancer in the brain of the species, without causing negative effects in the organs, or neurological affections.
In addition to the above, the researchers have carried out in vitro tests in organs similar to the human brain, through integration with stem cells, and the results have been promising since, at the concentrations used, they have managed to stop the clinical pathology and in many cases eradicate it.

Methodologically, the research focuses on the activation of cytokines, understood as those proteins, capable of regulating the immune responses in the body and it is these that are responsible for the suppression of tumors. In this sense, the Zika virus, together with the integration of stem cells, increases the migration of defense proteins to the brain, which makes it possible to fight the disease.
Undoubtedly, this is an advance with compromising projections that opens a range of possibilities in the face of a disease that is considered public health, due to the conditions and degeneration it achieves on the person and the family nucleus. .

According to the models established by scientists, virotherapy represents a tangible alternative for the disease, since it has given positive results in the two test phases that have been carried out, where the capacity of the virus in the detection and destruction of tumor cells.
In terms of dosage and route of administration, researchers have been able to establish that 3 doses of intraperitoneal injections of Zika virus with a time span of 7 days, and this pattern of administration has been the which has given better results in established experimental models.
Initially, there were doubts about the treatment due to the complications that the presence of the virus could generate in the immune system, which is associated with the development of neurological syndromes, among which the syndrome Guillain-Barré, and congenital malformations in newborns, such as microcephaly.

At the level of the experimental work and according to the data obtained, the scientists focused on the work with immuno-deficient mice, to which two thousand virus particles were applied per dose, whose evaluation at first was direct to the brain of the species, generating positive effects but after a short time the disease reappeared.
At this point, the researchers performed a systemic intraperitoneal treatment whose concentrations were similar between doses, or which had surprising effects since the animals recovered very quickly.
In this sense, the tests continue and it is currently considered to move to a larger species, for which tests will be started on dogs that allow a true efficiency of the research method obtained, which can be one of the great scientific advances in clinical matters.
