According to a study and analysis by Yelp, 60% of locked down businesses will not reopen. Businesses around the world are preparing for more restrictions, and are hurting as their customer base is avoiding their storefronts or cannot afford their products due to a damaged economy. What can you do to safeguard your health and your business in this time of Pandemic lockdown?
With major companies and industries hurting from the Pandemic lockdown Including Hertz, Boeing, the airline, hospitality and retail industry, there is major chance of further pain. The threat of infection and governement reactions and restrictions are making industries vulnerable to business shocks and uncertainty. Regulatory uncertainty is a bad thing for business.
Europe may see increasingly strict business restrictions and even more lockdowns this Fall, and this will harm the world's interconnected economy. It is uncertainty that is leading to what amounts to a rudderless ship situation in which certain industries are left to flounder in a dangerous sea of COVID-19 induced loss.
How can you safeguard your business and health during the Fall when and if COVID-19 infections increase and governments react with more restrictions? If you are in a vulnerable industry including hospitality, retail or travel it may be time to see if you increase efficiency and put your efforts into cleaning and sterilization efforts. Communicate with your clients what you are doing, and the laws you are complying with. Offer guests excellent service and reduce their anxiety surrounding the COVID-19 situation with proper PPE usage and safety protocols. Communication is absolutely key here, so make sure you consult with a PR firm if necessary.
If your business can go online exclusively and serve customers remotely, this can be an excellent time to invest in your online presence and reputation. Using Amazon or Postmates to sell your goods is important. Marketing will make a difference here, so focus on making a marketing plan that targets your customers.
Focus on your business and personal health as COVID-19 rages across the globe. Keep your head in the game and stay close to your customers.
