Hello beautiful people. Hope you're doing amazing today. A peaceful outward experience is guaranteed when there is peace on the inside. To achieve internal peace is not an easy feat, it shouldn't be taken lightly and it cannot be done alone. John 14:27 guarantees us that God gives us peace not like the world gives.
In ancient times, there were several trainings embarked upon to help with maintaining this peaceful nature, the prophets would separate themselves and begin at sunrise with prayers and seeking the face of God to build up virtues, to ensure their gain resistance against the noise that has now filled the world.
They undergo endurance exercises to train their body and their minds to be at peace, to meditate on the words of God and to know them by heart. The phone, the TV, the gossip, radio, didn't exist then and every other source of noise and distraction is greatly minimized with filtering their activities and limiting externally influencing factors.
The only way the internal part of a human can be disturbed is when the things that are external are allowed to penetrate and disrupt the stability that exists.
Require your body to become quiet to undergo training from time to time, as you master this, you set aside your phone, switch off your television, you close your space off from the hustle and bustle around. You would be able to do it even when you are out, working, on transit and where people are noisy and all form of activities are ongoing.
The reason for this is, it is until you are quiet that you can fully meditate of the word of God. Psalm 119 v 97 reveals to us that you will love the word of God and you will meditate on it all DAY and NIGHT.
That means as you are going to work, you are meditating and saying to yourself that 'the blessings of the Lord makes rich and adds no sorrow', as you are writing a report you say in as you meditate 'The Lord is my shepherd, I want nothing' and ideas for that paper begins to flow into your mind.
Distractions everywhere, gossips everywhere, all forms of audio-visual impurities. As you gather all that information, you will explode if you do not caution yourself.
As you attain stature and mature into a lifestyle of meditating and quietness, you begin to understand the need for a series of Authentication Steps that you should adhere to.
1. SEE NO EVIL.
You will intentionally guard your eyes and filter what it sees, certain times when I go in search of a short gospel music video on tiktok to save it on my phone for replay, whenever I scroll to the next video to see if I can find more of the same, I will see somebody either shaking something or a comedy portraying nudity and more.
I will angrily scroll past it to another nice comedy video and before I realize it, the app has soaked up one hour of my time and the actual reason that took me there is forgotten. I trained myself to search for the video I need, get it and exit the app. The same applies to all social media.
2. HEAR NO EVIL.
This goes hand in hand with seeing no evil, because we live in an audio-visual world, as you see you hear. You hear a lot of unbelievable sounds and chimes that sometimes even in your sleep, you wake up scared. Some maniacal laughs register in your mind and you have to work hard to be rid of them.
As you filter what you see, it will help you filter what you hear. Sometimes, you are in a salon and a gossip is ongoing, because your ears are tuned to pick out interesting sounds, you must consciously begin to speak the word of God until you drown out the gossip. Sometimes closing your eye helps.
3. SPEAK NO EVIL.
What you see and hear becomes what you speak, the mind is a master tool for digestion, reimagination and manufacture of unbelievable ideas and issues.
All the content you see, read and hear today came out of minds that digested and manufactured new ideas from old ones.
When you continuously feed your eyes, ears and mind with the right food, your mind will have no choice than to produce from what it consumed.
This is the three step authentication that guarantees peace and positive growth.
In this day and time, achieving peace and meditating on the right things can be one of the hardest things to do but also the most rewarding thing to do.
