Money and Crypto (Imagination and Hope)

Money is something small but like the purpose of life for many people, here is my little review of the development of money from its inception to the birth of crypto currency from the perspective of my imagination. So don't make this a scientific reference. although in making this post I also read some references

The history of the development of the medium of exchange or money in this paper I divide into three phases, namely:

First phase. Humans make transactions through the exchange of goods. (barter)

In ancient times, of course there was no money, at one time (in my imagination), to meet the needs of his life, humans exchanged their possessions with other people's according to their needs. For example a farmer who needs fish, he will invite to exchange his agricultural products with fish belonging to fishermen, as well as others, initially this happened between friends and neighbors, then developed into a kind of meeting place for the exchange of goods (market).

The second phase, creating gold coins

This phase occurs when human life has grouped to form a society, has a leader, and the king of this Kingdom then produces gold coins whose value is measured by weight. The existence of gold which is still valuable today but is no longer a medium of exchange or money, but gold is a separate community.

The third stage, the creation of paper money

The next stage is the change of gold coin currency into paper currency, this does not happen instantly, but through stages, initially in the form of paper like receipts, where someone deposits their gold to an institution in a certain amount as evidenced by a piece of deposit proof paper, These receipts can be exchanged either to institutions or to other people as needed, gradually this type of receipt develops into paper money.

According to the Guinness World Record, the first banknotes printed by China around 997 AD, named Jiaozi, then in the 17th century Europe also printed paper and continues to grow. Until now, all countries have had their own currencies with various names and different values.

Fourth phase: Digital Currency Era

Technological developments have created a new type of currency, which began in 1983 through the invention of e-cash by David Chaum (a citizen of the United States). Then it continued to grow until it gave birth to bitcoin in 2009, which is a digital currency that is created and stored electronically, so it has no form.

Currently the growth of digital money is very rapid, there are many coins or tokens circulating in the market, but in Indonesia or also in other countries, crypto currency has not become an official medium of exchange like paper money.

However, in my opinion, the progress of crypto money is unstoppable, in the next 10-20 years its existence will be as important as paper money and no longer only as an investment tool. This is not just wishful thinking, because currently non-cash transactions are growing, the money circulating is no longer in the form of paper or coins but only numbers in accounts or other storage places.

Hopefully crypto money will get more legitimacy from the State, and we steemians will be one of the pioneers, so let's invest steem as much as possible.
