Brave Swap Store
In 2020 Brave Browser reopened a revised online Brave Swag Store, which is the official source for Brave and Basic Attention Token-branded merchandise.
A very significant feature of the store is that it is powered by Origin Protocol’s decentralized e-commerce platform, Dshop, and is hosted entirely on IPFS, without any tracking cookies or scripts.
This is a big departure from from traditional e-commerce solutions that track users andsuch tracking is in direct opposition to Brave’s core privacy values, so this tracking e-commerce solution was abandoned in favor of this privacy respecting decentralization version.
Cryptocurrency is accepted
Brave Swag Store customers may purchase official merchandise with Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) or Ether (ETH), in addition to the standard credit card payment option.
NFTs
On Feb 17, 2021 Brave announced that NFT purchases could be made on the Brave Swag Store.
Customers can now purchase Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), such as limited-edition digital collectibles tokenized on the blockchain, straight from the Brave Swag Store.
The Brave and BAT Community Meme Competition.
Brave features their own set of collectible NFTs and physical stickers, which are based on the three winning entries from a recent contest: The Brave and BAT Community Meme Competition. As a side note, the competition winners receive the majority of the proceeds from the NFT sales, plus $100 worth of official BAT/Brave merchandise. But the best gift or reward, is that their artwork is transformed into first-edition BAT & Brave NFT collectibles.
