Good day everyone! I'm beginning a new series, titled, Taking Charge Of Your Life. This series promises to be interesting, educative and informative. When you are between your 20 - 30 years, you will have periods when you doubt if you will be successful or not, if you will ever feel loved, you will get frequent mood swings, and so on. The age bracket is one of the hardest, and there will also be pressure from the society, parents, family members and even friends. Some people fall under the pressure and don't take charge of their life.

In this article, I will be sharing with you guys one simple way you can start taking charge of life, in order to become a successful individual/entrepreneur.

Know Thyself

This is the most important step you have to take, if you want to start taking charge of your life. You need to take weeks, even months trying to know who you really are. Once you discover who you really are, success is close by. Majority of us living today, don't know who we really are. We have been influenced to act, think and behave in a particular way. Over here in Nigeria, if you are very brilliant as a young child, they will say you have to study medicine. And that's where majority of people miss their own self. They like the commercial or art aspect of life but forced to go to the science aspect of life. To gain admission to study medicine is really hard in Nigeria. So, many try and try for years, wasting 2 - 3 years of their life trying to gain admission to study medicine, that they may not truly like but because of the pressure from family and society, they want to become Doctors and be well respected in future. After several years of trying, they won't still be able to get medicine, they will decide to go for lesser course, such as zoology, wildlife, fishery and so on. They are now living a complete different life. But the people who pressured them to choose science and study medicine are going on with their life. Something you must know, is that, you are "alone". You were given birth to, alone and when you die, you will be buried, alone. You can't feel what others are feeling and others can feel what you are feeling, only you 'alone' feel what you feel. We are all alone, that's just the reality. Knowing this, will help you make decisions that are only to your favor. You don't need to be pressured to make decisions because of someone or the society because you are going to be the only one living with any decision you make. So know thyself!

Hi friend @taiwo-write

The realities are different, notice when you say "here in Nigeria, if you are very bright as a child, they will tell you that you have to study medicine", in the case of South America generally outstanding children in primary school are associated with engineering careers.

Best regards, be well.

Hi dear friend @taiwo-writes

You need to take weeks, even months trying to know who you really are.

I've spent decades trying to get to know myself, I think I'm starting to do it, I hope soon to understand myself to achieve my goals

regards

It truly hard to really know one's self completely. But I'm happy that you are starting to, nice one.
