taxation

greetings to the PH community I hope you are well and in good health, remember that health is the basis of almost everything in life and even the pandemic represents a danger to us all, I was a while without writing as I suffered from a writer's block that prevented me from finding topics to develop but thanks to read other articles I found a topic with which I felt comfortable to write, I hope you like it and can leave a comment.

One of the things that governments all over the world take care of is that citizens pay their taxes on time in order to finance the state, in theory states collect from their citizens an amount of money that they consider fair according to the citizen's income, in developed countries these taxes are invested in the development of their societies and for this they pay the institutions that regulate the life of the citizen such as the police, health centres and many others.

The problem comes for developing countries where taxes seem to be destined to maintain the lifestyles of politicians who come to power with nothing and in a few years enjoy luxurious lives, in my country Venezuela this reality is quite marked as many of the politicians of the state and also of its opposition come to public office and in a matter of months their life changes without doubt that something is happening with our taxes.

On the other hand, if you are an entrepreneur, the state seems to punish you with an astronomical amount of taxes and a lot of bureaucracy that just makes the process a bureaucratic hell for people who want to have a registered company.

the reason for mentioning all this is that some countries that don't want to recognise coins as money want to tax the earnings of coins, this from my point of view is crazy to want citizens who earned their coins outside the country to pay a tax on an asset that you don't consider money.

Just imagine if you live in a country like Venezuela, Nigeria or India where the state is quite controlling and due to their economic policies you are forced to work remotely to earn in a more stable currency, that money which is generally coins was generated outside the country, now the state which has no control over what you earn tells you that you must declare how much in coins they have and you must also pay taxes for having something that they do not recognise as money.

This is where a local market for products and services that accept coins becomes necessary, so that people who generate their earnings in coins are not forced to change their assets into local currency, people could keep their earnings out of the sight of the state that only wants to tax them to maintain the lifestyle of their politicians.

In conclusion, it is my opinion that taxes should be invested in making society a more pleasant place for its citizens to live like developed countries do, if the state cannot guarantee investment in society then it should not tax its citizens.

Tax issues are always difficult for those who have less income or you are an entrepreneur who has left everything you have in an investment that may or may not be recovered in the short term.
thanks for sharing

thanks for reading the article, I think the system creates all these barriers so that people don't get out of poverty and the best way to keep them there is by taxing them a lot.

Hello @trabajosdelsiglo
I'm really sorry you had that block to write, but it's something that can happen to anyone. But that break helped, you brought up a good topic, I think many will be interested to give their opinion on it.
I hadn't seen that point, actually many states have a war against cryptocurrencies, some even say that's not money, but they do want to tax it, good point.
The politics in under developed countries is so particular, what they seek is only to get rich without caring if the people go hungry, this situation or stance of not wanting to pay taxes is not easy to understand for people living in developed countries.

yes, at the beginning I thought it was not real the writer's block but now I know it is true, on the other hand my friend the state just wants more money in any form to increase their standards of living.

Wouldn't it just be a very good thing if taxes were used for the appropriate thing but instead we have politicians who are extremely greedy and are o my concerned about their gains.

If growth was happening in the country, people will be willing to pay taxes without been forced or put through any form of pressure at all.

all these ills are solved by using blockchain, thanks for reading

@tipu curate 4

You are correct but what discouraged people from paying tax is that citizen is not seeing what the tax is been used for the only thing you see is politicians changing cars everyday.

I agree, thanks for reading

Normally in the beginning of the creation of taxes, it is meant for the government to use it to improve the living standards of people in return but in this our present age we find ourselves now, corruption has crept in and do they are using the taxes fund for their selfish gains

at the beginning I imagine it had that purpose but now it is a livelihood for many swindling politicians, thanks for reading the article.

Taxation is nothing more than legalized robbery even if it is used for positive things.

Most governments in the world mismanage the wealth they take from the public, including here in the United States. Idealistically taxes should be used to better society, however, many times even welfare doesn't help people who are on welfare get out of poverty. Many times people take advantage of the welfare given to them by the people.

You can't tax people into prosperity; People with the will to succeed can become successful.

With that being said, since people believe in government then the best solution from no government would be minimal government. Less taxes, less regulation and more freedom (both economically and socially).

Governments like Venezuela, Bolivia and Ecuador (among others) continuously use the people and their plight to fight for a more "equal" world, but the sad fact is nobody is equal to another and forcing this equality financially leads the common people to poverty while the people who manage "wealth redistribution" become rich at the expense of tax payers.

Individualism is more important than collectivism. Individualism is what leads to freedom and success.

I think states should use blockchain so that citizens know for sure what they are spending their taxes on, I guess that's why politicians hate coins, thanks for reading the article.

Greetings @ trabajosdelsiglo Taxes as they are designed and in most of the legislation of the countries says that they are to support public spending. However they have served all life to be used as enrichment of those in power. If it were used as it should be, I am sure the taxpayers would be happy and the amount collected would be constantly increasing.
Thank you very much for your publication

in Venezuela the politicians make a great living with the taxes of the citizens, thanks for reading
