Why don't Europeans eat rice for breakfast?

Why don't Europeans eat rice for breakfast?
Erm… why would we? There is no rule saying this is the only healthy thing to have for breakfast, is there? Also, rice doesn’t grow in Europe so it’s not part of our traditional fare. Other cereals, like wheat, barley and oats, are grown here, are no less healthy and no less tasty than rice, so that is what we usually eat for breakfast, in the shape of bread or porridge. Having said that, in Sweden, where I live, it is not entirely unusual to have rice porridge topped with sugar and cinnamon and eaten with milk for breakfast:

This is particularly connected with Christmas, so I have it once a year at Christmas time. Otherwise I usually have things like yoghurt with muesli, coffee and toast, eggs or oatmeal porridge (eaten with jam and milk):
