The budgerigar which is also knows as the same name in Bengali language. It is not much available in Bangladesh. This is a famous bird here.
The budgerigar is a long-tailed, seed-eating parrot usually nicknamed the budgie, or in American English, the parakeet. Budgies are the only species in the genus Melopsittacus. Naturally, the species is green and yellow with black, scalloped markings on the nape, back, and wings.
Lifespan: 5 – 10 years (In captivity)
Clutch size: 4 – 6
Scientific name: Melopsittacus undulatus
Mass: 30 – 40 g (Adult, In the wild)
Length: 18 cm (Adult, In the wild)
Conservation status: Least Concern (Population increasing)
Actually this is a new types of bird came in bangladesh. And all people are buying this and loving this.
They are beautiful in look like parrot. Also they don't harm anyone. Then main thing is this is a bird,which is for home. There are some birds which like to fly,but this is not. This stays at home in cage and eat and drink in there.
Also budgerigar gives egg ,but it takes 7 days to give 1 egg. I have count it. Also it's price is less than other birds we can buy. Only 1-2$ per budgerigar.
