Hello everyone,
How are you all? It's good to see another community from India. I also belong from India, always have the pleasure to see my country's people are growing. I believe this community will support those who are doing a fabulous job but not getting enough support. Whenever I see my country's name, I always try to make content related to my country and post them under my country's community.
Tomorrow In Kolkata, we will worship goddess Saraswati(believed the God of education and music). On that day, we wake up very early in the morning, and before taking a bath, we all rub raw turmeric paste into our bodies; After that, we take our bath, and we wear a sari(traditional dress). And then we all sit to prepare 'Prasad' for goddess Saraswati. Once we finish puja at our home, we all get ready to visit schools and colleges to see puja. Generally, on this day everyone wears yellow saris. Many schools and colleges cook khichdi and pulao on this day. Now when I am no longer a student, I miss those days a lot.
I can remember clearly; when I was in 9th standard. One day before the puja, my close friends, and a few teachers, went to the market to buy all ingredients for the puja and also bought a sculpture of the goddess Saraswati.
That day was enjoyable for us because we all were free to attend the class, and no one was there to scold us.
In India, on the day of Saraswati puja, we all keep our books near goddess Saraswati for her blessings. So, we get another day when no one will force us to study.
Children, who are 2-3yrs old, Take the first lesson(hatekhori in Bengali) on this day. Many keep musical instruments beside goddess Saraswati.
That is how we celebrate Saraswati Puja in Bengal. I hope you like the information related to the puja. Stay blessed, all of you.
