Challenge Theme: Survival Mode Launch & Leaderboard Updates:
This week's challenge theme is to share about the Survival Mode Launch & Leaderboard Updates. So in this post, I will share some insights of my experience with the Survival Mode Launch. The survival mode is a new format just like Wild and Modern Formats. In the Survival mode you can use cards until you have been defeated playing with those cards. You can read more about the survival mode below.
Survival Mode is Live!:
Survival mode is a new Format of gameplay in the Splinterlands game. It is officially now live and you can find this mode on the main page near the Modern and Wild format tabs. The survival mode has its own leaderboard and rewards that will be shared among the top players.
Survival Mode Rules:
There are some rules associated with the survival mode and that should be kept in mind while playing the survival mode. The first rule is there is no energy required to play the survival mode and players can play unlimited if cards are available to be used in the battles. The second and most important rule of Survival mode is when a card is defeated in the survival mode it can not be used in any format of gameplay until a cooldown period.
Card Cooldown Period:
When a card dies in the survival mode it goes to the cooldown and can not be used in any mode until the cooldown period ends. You can see the complete cooldown periods of cards according to card rarity and foil in the screenshot below.
RESURRECTION POTIONS:
The Resurrection potions will be available in the shop that can be purchased using Dec, credits, or glint tokens. This potion is a one time usable potion which will remove or reduce the cool down period of a card. This potion is adding value to the ecosystem and has good use case.
Survival Mode Leaderboard Rewards:
The survival mode has its own leaderboard and the leaderboard rewards are Glints. Glint is an ingame currency used to purchase item available in the shop. The leaderboard rewards for the modern and wild format were DEC but now they are also shifted to the Glints. You can check the rewards for survival mode by league in the screenshot below.
Battle Rewards:
The battles winning rewards for the Survival mode is only SPS. Unlike the Modern and Wild format in which the winning rewards are SPS plus Glints calculated with Rshare. The SPS rewards for the survival mode is of small size and players will win SPS from the reward pool for each win in Survival mode based on the Rshares they earned in that battle as compared to the total number of Rshares earned from all Survival mode battles over the past 15 days.
