To become a commercial pilot most important thing is you have to be financially and potentially strong. Many students have to quit in the middle of their training either they don't have finance further or they are not potentially strong enough to perform well.

The first thing is your 12th with a minimum of 50% in physics, chemistry, and maths. To join as a commercial pilot your age must be between 18-32. You should not have colour blindness. The next step is to clear the entrance exams.

DGCA(Directorate General of Civil Aviation) conducts exam for admission in flying school. When you clear this you have to prepare for an interview, after the interview you have to clear your medical. If you are fit for flying then you get admitted to flying school.

Now it's completely on you which flying school you want to join, but it should be DGCA approved, course duration on average is two years but it depends on your school. After admission in the theoretical part, you study plan, navigation and more.

In the practical part, you will fly plan. There are three stages for this. When you take admission you get your SPL(Student Pilot License) so that you can fly plan as a beginner or student, after 60 hours of flying you get PPL(Private Pilot License), and after 210 hours of flying you receive your CPL(Commercial Pilot License).

Once you receive CPL, you can apply for job in any airline. After an interview, you can now fly Commercial planes. Now coming to cost, the total cost you will have to pay from being a student to flying first commercial plan will be around 60-70 lakh. But the salary you will receive will be around 1.5 lakh per month which can go more than 5-7 lakh with experience.
