It's neither here nor there

You know how many posts I have made since the beginning of that milk challenge?

None. I haven't made any post. That's how much hoot I give about the entire premise. It's funny, though. When there's a call for engagement, I stop interacting with people. But, don't worry. I will make it up to you all by making a bunch of posts. Well, at least more posts than I usually write anyhow.

I'm not much of a milk person because I'm not a "professional" content creator like some people. I'm not bored enough to do "proof of click" mining like some of the larger stakeholders on the platform. In @abitcoinskeptic's own words, I'm someone who writes in his spare time.

I get it. Everyone wants to make money and it makes no sense to power up your STEEM to only reward others. I understand that the purchase of tokens was an investment. But, the fomo is causing some folks to do questionable things.

Things got so bad that an elaborate scheme to burn and fix the peg popped up. Who cares? Why don't you all start voting for yourselves instead? Oh wait, the community fought several Steemians that did that, so you can't go full hypocrite now.

There are plenty of garbage or okay stuff to vote on, but you have deemed them unworthy of your votes. Because you know, where do you think the rewards come from? It only makes sense to burn and fix that peg. Never mind how burning a gigaton of tokens won't do anything. Ask Stellar. What has their burning done for them besides increasing their founders' relative shares?

I wrote a post almost two years ago about how things would devolve like we see today. People love "placeholders for voting". It's not about the content. It's all a guise with no substance.

You see those "daily photography" posts? They are placeholders. You see that dumb as hell "@steemhunt review"? That's another placeholder. You see some Korean fish receiving downvotes? You bet it's done by a different circlejerk. You see that jackass still using profitable bots? He's wanking in his own corner.

         "But, what you mean?"

         Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

What I'm trying to say is...it's about the kids.

It's about the kids? But But I thought It was about the badges. Those stinken badges that are so hard to get, like made a post everyday for 7 days in a row. (I got one of those, but I want a number 2 on it, why a number 2? think about doing number 2. I am far and away from being a pro at blogging, or even taking pictures, but I like badges, I am not sure why I like badges, Maybe because when I see badges I think of badgers, and some badgers can be pretty stinkin mean.

Then again, maybe I'm just a kid at heart.

It's about the kids?

Shout out to the single mothers and fathers.

oh, such a treasure when you do inspire us though. I am also not a professional writer and I don't play one on TV or Steem. Half the battle is saying something that interests a few people and engaging with them.

Half the battle is saying something that interests a few people and engaging with them.

And that's the thing. Stuff are valuable because people are actually there to interact, comment, etc.

The only "over rewarded" stuff I see are those botted or self-jerked stuff that nobody gives a shit about. That's where I draw the line between "exploitative" and normal.

But many prefer to say that I (and others) give preferential treatment. Whatever.

I agree, the non engagement posts irritate me the most.

I feel like a dinosaurus; still posting almost daily, still replying to comments, and: Still upvoting comments! Am I the last one of that breed?

Yes.

another breed on the brink of extinction ;)

Always thought-provoking! I'm going to be painfully honest here, I probably earn much more begging on the streets than on crypto-based social media platform.

You thought of looking in the bottom of your washer lately?...much easier than begging on the street corners. If I were to need a fast couple bucks I could always volunteer to go over kids house and do their laundry....depending upon which kid I could easily harvest a couple bucks from the bottom of the washer for a couple hours work.

Go to a laundromat, always be getting quarters.

Laundry mats are okay in a pitch like a temporary breakdown of the washing machine but having to sit around waiting for your laundry to get done isn't that comfortable. You have to sit in chairs that you have no idea whose been sitting there, worry about if someone came in with cockroaches in their bags or now a days worse yet would be bedbugs. Plus there's always that fool who took the day off from work because they are sick who decided it'd be a good day to get some laundry done and they are coughing all over the laundry mat....not to mention that you may find a quarter but doing laundry at home was ultimately cheaper.

....it's a rough job but someone has to do it. lol. A few months back I went to visit my brother at a prison...that's another uncomfortable "whose been sitting in this chair" scenario for me, not that they don't wipe them down at the end of the day because I've seen them doing it...which only reinforces my paranoia as being legit given how many times you see signs posted there's been some sort of health outbreak posted but those sick are not allowed visits, or worse yet you get there and the prison is under quarantine, anyway there were three bugs there that day, one that was crawling under the leg of the coffee table which turned out to be a spider, one that was crawling over by where the guard was stationed which didn't raise alarm bells as I can spot a cockroach a mile away...and the third was exactly that, a cockroach going up the wall behind some people sitting in front of the wall. They have strict rules there and you can't engage the other prisoners or their family members so shouting out an alarm wasn't an option but flinging my arms and pointing obviously wasn't as I didn't find myself reprimanded or escorted out afterwards but the funny part was those sitting along the front of that wall thinking I was some sort of nut trying to play charades or something with them. Finally one of them figured out I was trying to say "look behind you" and you never seen ladies jump so fast. So for me there's some places in life you only go to if you absolutely have to but there definitely will not be any hitchhikers coming home with me.

Brilliant ideas!

I've been telling people, many would probably make more taking up a few hours at a fast food joint than trying to grind for STEEM.

It should be a productive hobby instead.
