I remember when rewards dropped after 4 posts per day. Was that ever re-implemented, and if not, should it be a priority for the next fork as another abuse mitigation step? Few if any quality content creators post very much. It can only serve to curb spam. It should be done again.

I really don't know why that was dropped. Quality is more important than quantity. It is obvious that first account does not really care about the content.

I wondered about this too. It was crucial in preventing multiple post spamming

Because it promotes them to make more profiles, so lesser of two evils kinda thing.

Ah, that makes perfect sense actually?

The principle is genial: don't prevent abuse, but make it costly to abuse. After all, we all pay a cost for these limits and we know that they don't prevent abuse but obscure it.

If they have 10 votes a day but can only create 4 things to upvote a day for maximum roi they will easily create 6 more with another.. This way, they (spammers) chose the easiest option which keeps the noise to a "negligible impact", instead of easily avoiding the limit whilst simply only increasing the amount of noise.

@ivanmalyshev and @lerua are currently buying a lot of votes from minnowbooster.
Minnowbooster is notificed :D

I have to concentrate on a few cases at a time. I see the first of those has been picked up for SFR. I cannot have much impact on them anyway.

Its not like its worth it for them. They lose steem by promoting it through MB since its only for promotion tho. So its just a limit time they can do it

Good luck with that! I have been working as a "ref" for the Sports talk community for a couple of months now and it is amazing how hard some of these people are milking every community they can think of. A lot of the abusers just move in packs from one community to another exploiting token rewards. It would be cool if there were some sort of global blacklist among the different communities.

I think the tribes can blacklist people, so we have some control. We have to do something or Steem is really doomed.

They can, I think having a global blacklist would be cool though. Sports Talk Social has started to work together with Actifit to target users they have identified as abusers.

Yeah I’ve noticed their are a few serial vote miners and some have a group that farm together! I’ve been flagging this account as often as I find it but yeah they don’t seem to be deterred

I was wondering if bid bot owners could change the requirements of accepting bids only from those who have set beneficiaries to @null which would remove the rewards give them their exposure if they so wanted it, pay the bid bot owner and still make their manual curation votes even more valuable to users

I don't think the remaining bots really care about what they vote on. They are happy to take the money even though they are helping to keep the Steem price down. Thanks for your contributions to the cause.

@anytime-soon is getting votes for little effort from some big stakeholders. For the effort involved I'm not sure why.

The @boomerang bot is sporadically used, and the content is more spam than anything else.

I'll keep any eye on it, some of the posts are organic now.

Where are the organic posts? Most votes come from the two bots and their other account. It has been pointed out they may be pretending to be this evangelist, but that is irrelevant to me.

I think this is, @steemcleaners are on the case now. Looks like some plagiarism is afoot.

Thanks @steevc. I think it's important that this is adressed openly!
Imagine the actual daily drain of all these little scams.
