Greetings my dear Steemians. Is always a beautiful thing to always try out beautiful contest that is held in the #steemHindwhaleCommunity held by @alfazmalek and today I will be dropping my entry concerning the awareness which I believe you guys will definitely love it. Read below. Today I will be talking about I am proud of my language. which everyone has he or she language to be proud of. I will be sharing more details below so stay tuned.

Which language are you proud of and why?

Eggon language I am proud of.

Eggon is the language I am proud of front and back. Reason why Eggon is the language I am proud of is this, Eggon being my language I have know reason to stand aside from it everyone has to proud of he or she language no matter how or bad it is. Eggon language is great language when you check how it was found and how it come to excit. Checking out there history you will see how strong the language was and up to date and also reason why I am proud of it.

Can you tell the history of the language you are proud of, how it became a language and became common among the people?

Surely, I am going to tell you the history of Eggon language I am proud of. The Eggon people are an ethnic group predominantly found in Nasarawa State, Nigeria. Here are some interesting facts about the Eggon language I am proud of in 4 different stages: 1.

  • The Eggon people migrated to their current location from the Jos Plateau region around the 17th century.
  • They have a rich oral tradition, with stories and legends passed down through generations.
  • The Eggon people have a strong sense of identity and connection to their ancestral homeland.

  • The Eggon people have a rich cultural heritage, with a strong emphasis on community and social cohesion.
  • They are known for their vibrant traditional festivals, such as the Eggon Festival, which celebrates their culture and heritage.

This is actually the first time I'm hearing of such a language in Nigeria. Undoubtedly, Nigeria has lot of tribes as you've mentioned. I thought you were a Yoruba guy from your looks but wait, what differentiates Yorubas from Eggon people.....?

@bossj23, below here are some some different and examples between Eggon and yorubas. If you are not satisfy with it then you let me know for further clarification.

Cultural Differences between Eggon and yorubas

Under Language: Eggon people speak the Eggon language, while Yoruba people speak the Yoruba language. Under Traditional attire: Eggon people wear traditional clothing such as "Agbada" and "Babanriga", while Yoruba people wear "Agbada", "Babanriga", and "Iro". Under Music and dance: Eggon people have traditional dances like "Alo" and "Ogegi", while Yoruba people have dances like "Bata" and "Dundun".

Historical Differences of Eggon yorubas

Under Origin: Eggon people originated from the Jos Plateau region, while Yoruba people originated from the southwestern part of Nigeria. Under Migration: Eggon people migrated to their current location in Nasarawa State, while Yoruba people migrated to various parts of Nigeria, including Oyo, Ogun, Osun, and Lagos states.

Social Differences

Family structure: Eggon people have a patrilineal family structure, while Yoruba people have a patriarchal family structure. In another aspect Marriage customs: Eggon people have traditional marriage customs like "Kpakpa" (bride price), while Yoruba people have customs like "Igba Nkwu" (engagement ceremony). So also in Social hierarchy: Eggon people have a relatively flat social hierarchy, while Yoruba people have a more complex hierarchy with monarchs, chiefs, and nobles.

Every nation in the world has its own mother tongue. Our mother tongue is very beautiful. The language we learn after coming into the world is our mother tongue.
