My Best Travel Story
There comes a time that we travel either as a result of need or by an act of passion to travel. These two main reasons makes us to leave our immediate environment to a known or unknown location. But the fact is that a time must come for one to embark on a journey.
What we make out of the travel may also depend on the purpose of why we embarked on it. It could be for fun or excitement, or arising from change of jobs. It really feels good to change your environment once in a while so as to have an experience of another environment.
My best travel was when I boarded a luxurus bus to see a loudable mother & child healthcare project recently established in my community. It was a happy journey to embark as I went to my community to behold this enviable healthcare project. It is a general hospital that would take care of mother, child and other health challenges that could arise in the community. The project is jointly financed through public and private partnership. It is a sustainable development goal (SDG) project under the federal ministry of health.
During the visit in the rural community, I went into the general hospital to see the healthcare equipments installed in the hospital. The equipments are okay to start running the hospital, but more are still needed.
I was very happy going into different wards or units in the hospital. I saw the mother and children' ward, the eye care unit, surgery, intensive care unit, and pharmacy unit.
Attracting this kind of project is not one that comes easy. A lot of effort were made to have such project situated in my community. Millions of dollars were invested in this project so the WHO is also a partner the project.
I took some walk to go some miles looking at the plants and trees surrounding the hospital. They add beauty and provide some shield within the environment. Unlike hospitals situated in the urban areas that witness large number of persons coming for different health challenges, this rural hospital has not started to have large number of people coming around for different kinds treatment.
I am happy to travel to visit this kind of health facility in my locality. It has given the rural people access to healthcare.
