Steemit Engagement Challenge - S13/W6 - “What are the top five things I look for online?”

Steem greetings from the motherland-Cameroon to friends of the Hindwhale community. It is week 6 of the engagement challenge and I'm happy to share ideas regarding this week's discussions with the theme “What are the top five things I look for online?".

Nowadays, it is common for us to go online for different purposes. It is either we learn new courses online, search for happenings around the world, chat with friends, learn new recipes shop online, watch movies, etc. Below, I will share my ideas following the guiding questions.

What was the first most important thing I searched for online? causes and advantages of it.

I started knowing the importance of going online during my undergraduate studies in 2009 when I had my laptop and first Android phone. At that time, I mostly went online to chat with my sister abroad.

As time went on, my purpose of going online shifted from just chatting to searching for online textbooks and doing research for assignments. The university library had little space to accommodate thousands of students. Also, the number of books at the library was limited and it was common for a student to use a textbook and keep it on a different bookshelf as a secret place so that others would not get the book.

For this reason, I found the internet the best option for me to go online and search for my assignments. It was less stressful and more convenient for me to go online at any time to study.

Also, it was easier to get a variety of information online to compare and contrast ideas and learn new concepts daily online than in an analogue library.

What was the second most important thing I searched for online? causes and advantages of it.

The second most important thing I search online nowadays is shopping. I searched most of my items online and placed orders.

Shopping online is less stressful as compared to moving around from one shop to another. Seating in my comfort, I can go online and shop for anything I desire.

Online shopping is advantageous as you can easily get what you want from different vendors or shops online. This makes it possible to avoid unnecessary crowds at the market.

Lastly, it is easy for me to go online and search for items, save them and shop later with no pressure.

What was the third most important thing I searched for online? causes and advantages of it.

The third most important thing I do online is communicate with friends and family. There is never a day, I stay without connecting with either friends or family to chat.

It is cost-efficient to communicate for long hours online. You tend to spend less amount of money to convert data and chat for a long time.

What was the fourth most important thing I searched for online? causes and advantages of it.

The fourth most important thing I searched online was movies. Most often I search for recent movies online and watch them without necessarily downloading them to occupy space on my laptop.

The reason I searched movies online is because it is easy to get the most recent movies online and watch them. Gone are the days we used to go out to cinemas and spend almost the whole night watching movies. Now, I can watch any recent movies in the comfort of my home.

Lastly, the level of insecurity now is high and risking my life going out to watch movies is not necessary. With the internet at home, I can watch good movies online in the comfort of my home.

What was the fifth most important thing I searched for online? causes and advantages of it.

The fifth most important thing I searched online is comedies. Each time I feel bored, I go online and search for comedies or when I am exhausted.

Watching comedies helps me to relax while laughing, relaxing my muscles, and relieving me from stress.
