Gender equality has been hyped in most governmental and non-governmental media pronouncements on the need to stop or bring to its bearest minimum issues discrimination based on gender differences. Not only are females seen to be discriminated against in this era, but their male counterparts as well.
Giving equal opportunities to people irrespective of their gender affiliations is all that matters here. Having equal rights to work, socialize, and be represented in all given spacess without acts of discrimination and segregation is what gender equality represents.
It is advantageous to all concerned because it allows everyone to express themselves freely without fear of being shut down. Removes concerns of low self-esteem but rather boosts courage and personal build to do more outstandingly.
As I mentioned in the first guideline, gender equality isn't just all about women, but the men folks are inclusive in this drive. There are organizations, positions, or career paths that become discriminately and want to favor one gender type (especially women). Therefore, the men happen to feel less or shy away from performing.
It is perhaps a win-win for all genders to be treated equally and not allow one to override or dominate because of their state of creation. Men may be stronger due to their masculine nature, but the emphasis on creating conscious balance should always be prioritized for women.
Culture and beliefs play a major role in the complete elimination of gender inequality in my country. There are belief systems that have continually put women in a disadvantageous position. Not allowing them to have their way in society as required, the kind of job they engage in, and so on.
Though technological advancement and modernization are gradually reducing this impact, there is a need to do away with these overbearing cultures that empower one and reduce the other. It does not allow the world to be evenly shared by everyone.
We can educate our children through family upbringing by being living examples of what they want to be. If we train them with the right quality system, they will grow up with them and become carriers of them.
Family is the first basis for change. It may take time, but this is the foundation to right the wrongs of any generation's flaws.
