Way to Tilak Ceremony 🪅

Greetings, friends! So let’s begin the second diary of Manoj’s wedding. As I mentioned in my previous post, we had reached Chitranjan for Manoj’s wedding, and all the preparations had begun. Now it was time for us to head to the bride’s house for the Tilak ceremony.

Going for Tilak with my friends

After having lunch in the afternoon, we got ready at 4 PM for the Tilak ceremony. I wore a jacket and jeans, while Manoj was dressed in a kurta-pajama. We reached the bride’s house in our car, and everyone gathered inside the decorated mandap. I would like to share that in Hindu culture, Tilak is an important ceremony where the groom’s family visits the bride’s house with gifts, fruits, and sweets and performs prayers and rituals.

We too arrived for the ceremony, and the rituals began. Manoj and the bride’s brother sat facing each other, with the priest conducting the puja in between them, chanting mantras. The rest of us sat near Manoj.

The sacred chants filled the hall with a divine atmosphere, and one by one, gifts were exchanged between the two families.

Evening had arrived, and everyone was engrossed in the rituals. Everyone had come dressed beautifully for the occasion and sat attentively during the prayers.

Now it’s turn to Marriage time

After the puja was completed, we left the bride’s house and returned to the hotel as we had to prepare for the wedding ceremony later that evening.

Get ready for the Shaadi

We rested for a while and then quickly got ready for the wedding. I wore a three-piece suit, while Ajay opted for a kurta-pajama. We got into the car and stopped a little away from the wedding venue. From there, we started dancing to Bhojpuri songs, adding to the festive vibe. At the same time, I took photos to make the memories unforgettable.

All Set ready

Jaimaal Time

After the dance, Manoj’s Dwaarpuja ceremony took place, and then we proceeded towards the Jaimala. Manoj’s brothers-in-law lifted him and carried him to the stage for the Jaimala. A little while later, the bride made her grand entry.

Before that, we went up on the stage and clicked photos with Manoj. Once the bride arrived, we went back on stage, gave blessings, and congratulated the couple. After spending some time there, we headed for dinner.

Beautiful couples are ready to start new journey

At dinner, there was a menu card, and the food was truly amazing. However, people didn’t like the pulao much because raisins were added to it, and North Indians don’t really like sweetness in their pulao. But overall, we enjoyed the food.

After finishing my meal, I stepped outside and saw that Manoj’s photoshoot was going on. I waited for him for a while, and then we headed to the bride’s house for the wedding ceremony. There, the priest was conducting the rituals, and with the chanting of mantras, the wedding was completed by around 5 AM.

Finally, at 5 AM, my friend Manoj applied sindoor in the parting of his soon-to-be wife Aishwarya’s hair, marking the completion of the wedding. After the ceremony was over, we all gave our best wishes to the newlyweds.

I extend my heartfelt wishes for the couple’s new journey together.

See you in my next diary. Until then, sending you all my warm regards.
