I decided to prepare jellof rice and beans
Rice and beans are one of my favorite kinds of food and rice and beans are compatible with each other.
Beans are a food that contains both protein and carbohydrates and are highly nutritious, boasting at least a little bit of almost every nutrient you need. They may cause digestive problems, but that can usually be avoided with the right cooking and preparation methods.
Rice contains carbohydrate that provides energy to the body, it is one of the important foods in Nigeria, and children and the majority of people prefer to eat rice than any other food.
How I prepared my jellof rice and beans
I started by boiling my beans and I made sure that it was half done so that it would not melt at the time I wanted to properly cook it.
After I boiled the beans, I also boiled the rice and I made sure it was not completely done so that by the time I properly cooked it would not melt.
After I finished boiling both the rice and beans, I had my ingredients such as tomatoes, pepper, onions, crayfish, fish, curry spices, Maggie, red oil, salt, etc, I had the above-mentioned ingredients ready for use.
I used red oil to cook, I started by frying the onion in the red oil when I noticed that the onions were already fried, I mixed the tomatoes inside and allowed it to fry for some minutes, after which I added my curry spices and again allowed it to fry for like a minute so that the aroma of those spices with come out well, I added some required quantity of water inside the pot and I mixed all the necessary ingredients that I needed to add inside the pot and I added the rice and beans.
In cooking my rice and beans, I don't pour the water that I used in boiling my beans, I learned this from my mom and I also love it, my mom used to believe that pouring water used for boiling beans was like wasting the beans. So, I reserved the water and mixed it inside the pot.
After I mixed all the ingredients into the rice and beans, I tasted it to make sure that there was no excess or less salt, after I was sure that the taste of the food was okay, I covered the pot and allowed it to cook and until it was completely done and was ready for consumption.
Thank you all for your usual support, love, and time that you have dedicated to reading my post. I love you all❤
