Hello Everyone how are you all doing today? It’s been a while since I wrote my diary post. So let’s begin with my today’s diary.

This last entire week has been a little bit of a jingbang. We had an early shift the past entire week in our office. Our Executive Leadership Team were visiting and we all had to reach office 2 hours prior than our normal timings. Not going to lie I even missed Gym because it was anyway too hectic in the mornings 😆; need to work on making that a habit.

At the Venue

Honestly, these kinds of environments make me really anxious. I find it difficult to even sit continuously, as when I look around, all I see is stress on people’s faces. So all in all it was a tough week for all of us. They often visit once a year, but this year this is the 2nd time they have visited. I’m not saying it’s some kind of nightmare, but just the atmosphere kind of changes and I’m not really used to it so ya it affects me. Anyway, moving forward, although the beginning was a bit rough, the end was totally awesome ☺️. So as you all know, Navratri ended long before, but since they were visiting during this time, we had our Navratri celebration day before yesterday.

Beginning of the Event

As I am part of the Fun committee at my office, we are all responsible for arranging events like these. From fun Fridays to festivals and events, we organise all these things. So as a part of the Navratri event, I was responsible for handling the registration of the attendees, organising gifts/mementos for the competition winners and our guests, and for hosting the event alongside my friend @deepak94. It was a great experience. We spent so much time practicing what we would say and how we would say it. After our office hours we would sit and practice the flow of the program and our coordination as well. It was great fun and at the same time a little exhausting as well 😆. It was a task to get all of our lines in sync with each other, but we did a fantastic job in the end.

All set to start the event

As we were part of the organising process, we had to reach the venue before time. So we planned to meet at one place, and we then got dressed and left early for the event. As we reached there, we did some practice on the microphone and tested our voices. We helped organize some things and waited for everyone to arrive. As we were the early birds, we got a chance to get clicked 😄. Some of our friends even got their single photos as no one had arrived yet, so they were the lucky ones. The cameraman took some shots of the venue and of all of us present there.

Soon our guests and other colleagues had arrived, and it was show time for us. We started off the event with a bang and then proceeded with the Aarti. As a part of the Navratri ritual, we always begin with the Aarti and then we start the Garba. Soon after the Aarti, we planned to take a group photograph before everyone gets exhausted. We announced some exciting competitions based on the outfits and performances too that night. Everyone was excited and enthusiastic to participate in each of these categories, and every one of them had a badge that had a number on it to qualify in the competition.

When we started the music, people immediately left their seats and came on the floor to start the garba. All of them were showing off their best outfits and their garba style because obviously the judges were going to take note of everything. So it was a beautiful sight of graceful dancing, presentation, and energy as well. The judges were also going to give them points on their continuity and stamina. As the night went ahead, we also made some arrangements for Dandiya as well. Dandiya sticks are small wooden sticks used in the Dandiya Raas. People danced in different formations and enjoyed their night.

After some time, the DJ even started playing some Bollywood music, which made the non-Gujaratis even more excited 😄 because now they had something they could vibe with too. So everyone had a gala time and couldn’t stop dancing. Even after we announced the last song, they continued to play 2/3 songs after that too.

Finally, we had to end the program anyhow and also move to the prize distribution ceremony. So although people were hungry, they patiently waited till the announcements and prize distribution were done. After everything was done, we announced the dinner arrangements, and everyone dispersed to enjoy the delicious dinner.
